    Matt May is a humble fucking genius, I love what he said regarding resistance at 48:40. It's true that a therapists good "intentions" can backfire and make the client feel worse.

    Using Feeling Great may not eliminate negative feelings completely, but certainly reduce their intensity.

    Absolutely, and sometimes, that's just a first step. And sometimes, some negative feelings are totally appropriate and even helpful.

    David makes good points. There's a saying to the effect that the worst tyrants are they ones who believe they are doing good with their cruelty. Positive distortions can be extremely damaging.

    Right you are! Much of the world's suffering results from the belief that we are inherently better than many other people and that we are the victims of their bad behavior, without examining our own role in the problem.
