$400 Kawasaki Mini Dirt Bike From 1977 - Will It Run?

I bought this little dirtbike four years ago, and never did anything with it because I was busy with other projects. In this video I finally give it some attention and see if I can get it running. It is a 1977 Kawasaki KD100. The engine is a 100cc 2 stroke rotary valve, and the transmission is a 5 speed manual.

Sounds like it needs an oil-can round it and some loving care… that kickstart pedal squeaked in protest when you folded it out to turn the engine over by hand. Having owned a kawi from 1969 that had dual carbs and dual rotary valves ( actually disc's) , this little machine should have some real pep! Mine was a Kawi 350 Avenger, and it was a scrambler model that was fitted with some nice off road nobbie tires. It really screamed, I mean there wasn't a bike made that would keep up with it thru the 1/4 mile, but it was too heavy for the trails in retrospect. Then the 500 triple came out and the Avenger became a footnote in history! I only owned that bike for a yr until I blew it up, and turned my interest to a 57 Chevy Pu.
