I appreciate how open you are about mental health. By doing the first step and being vulnerable yourself, you teach the viewers that it's okay to be vulnerable about mental health in a safe environment.

Exactly, the language learning community often portrays polyglots as having impeccable schedules and extremely unrealistic expectations which can be detrimental to the viewers mental health.

@@techside1608I totally agree! Most of us have a full-time job that is not language learning and can't dedicate all the day to language learning.

Working backwards is the best way for me on most weeks because of my energy levels. I can sometimes time block but in a strange way because I planned a set time in advance, I end up not even doing the thing in my time block 😂

I feel like this is the most relatable channel I've found, because I'm South African too, and I am trying to learn as many languages as I can, at this stage I'm most fluent in Turkish and I'm learning Arabic, Korean, Japanese and Indonesian purely for fun. I love your videos :)

Great ideas here. I decided to watch this because I am trying to find the best language learning method for myself. Maybe I am getting too distracted trying to find the perfect method. I am having trouble getting into a routine with this learning for that reason

method 4 is my favorite! also, I love this kind of vlog style :) very informative and dynamic. I don't know if you've ever done this before or if you're comfortable doing it, but it would be really cool if you organized a meet-up while in Seoul. I'll be there too for this next semester and it would be amazing to have the opportunity to meet you and other subscribers!

Isle of Tenerife, Spain, Africa. First of all, I've read all the comments on here just now, and I think it's maybe the first time EVER on KZread when they're not splattered with misspellings, some of them even completely correctly written and spelt, something almost never encountered in this century, so Lindie clearly has a more literate and perhaps erudite audience than most. I wonder if it's cause or effect. Whichever, I applaud it and almost revel in it, it's such a rare treat! Lindie's contributions are always inspiring, especially for me, now that I'm trying to get off the ground learning Frisian, the world's most difficult language, right? Best wishes, Patchy.

Sometimes I get super motivated and I can study for hours and hours. But then I struggle to keep that motivation. And I feel so depleted and irritated with myself. I'm going to try your working backwards method (I think that's what it's called) just keeping track of everything I have done.. not will do. I do get burnt out and stressed and I feel like sometimes I make progress and one day it clicks and then the next it sounds like I'm listening to jibberish... it can be a huge hurtle to overcome. But I can tell I am getting better (at french) I just need to work on consistency. Which. . Is so hard
