Thanks Lindie! What a fab video! I just discovered it...You are amongst THE FEW top linguists that really refreshed in me the love of the power of languages as each language does have its specialities but limits too; hence why to know than one is good. I was born in France and also lived more than 12 years in the USA and 23 in the UK (my wife, daughters even grandson are English). As much as I appreciate the power and funkiness of English tough, it is quite limited in expressing emotions, doing debates and is not always a success language for commerce/communities or education, as it depends which anglophone country you are in uses it (meaning well enough or not). Plus, diplomatically speaking with the UK's grand divide at work (between management and the workers, Victorian style wise still)and Brexit (but I understand why) and strong Trumpism in the USA still, English is now chosen to be spoken by foreigners in the world more per merit than an old 1980's reflex. Thank you so much for having been a HUGE inspiration for me to reconnect correctly to language power! And THIS time, I am going to enjoy Italian also, as much, for its phonetic pleasure and new thinking! Also...still... it is the 4th most studied language in the world and even Italians are shocked about this.

Immersive Translate is a great tool you can use if you’re looking for a fast and easy way to supplement your language learning. A little about Immersive Translate: it’s a free browser extension that supports over 100+ languages. I personally like to use it to generate subtitles to my KZread and Netflix, and that’s how I’ve been immersing myself in my target language every night.

I’ve been using Immersive Translate ever since I discovered it a few months ago. I use it to generate subtitles to my Netflix and KZread, and this has been a great way for me to immerse myself in my target language, which is Vietnamese. At first, I really struggled, but now with the help of the plugin, I’m able to make a lot of progress so far, which is really great.

That looks really cool! I do something similar but with a spreadsheet document online. Im always so busy though I make a list for a two week period separated and colour coded by the language what I want to do and then mark out them as I am able to get to them.

Very nice, I appreciate how you showed your thinking while planning your language learning schedule. I think I'll set up my own schedule. Since I'm visiting Portugal in October, I think I'll dedicate about an hour to (Eu) Portuguese M-Th. I'll devote another hour or so to German on Friday, and maybe 30 minutes to Afrikaans on Sunday. It's time to get back into it.

Hello Lindie! I have been studying Spanish because I have been living in Spain so i had the chance to improve it a little bit however I assume my level is only A2. Since I returned to my country speaking German is very important for finding a job here and for my future, i want to start German as well. However, I am struggling a lot because studying two languages can be tricky as i heard from other videos. Do you recommend studying both languages? My German is A1 because I learned it a year ago and forgot everything.

i also enjoyed having a simple device like lg g4 back in the day, with 2tb of storage on it. basically any files on my computer could be copied onto it. it also acted as a back up for my pc, and my pc a back up for it. but i miss THAT. just simplicity of having alot of storage on my device. i dont like all the online programs. unless it's speechify or google docs. only reason i like google docs is because i dont like microsoft word and i need SOME program to type documents on. i just felt alot more in control when i am solely managing my files, instead of using online platforms for it.

speechify is my main best one. but i use google notes for temporary stuff and later it can be put into google docks or vice versa can put in google doc on a note. but the best app for stored notes overall is google docs. and google keep is more for on the fly type of stuff, you can do voice to text and capture stuff on the fly alot easier. but mass data of notes is better on google docs. i dont use ever note because more than one notetaking app is already too much for me with google keep and google docs and then google drive is one i use alot to organize stuff. you can put all kinds of stuff including pdfs in there and into folders along side google docs and google notes, etc.

I haven't studied a language for a while now and am actually feeling bad because of it. I really missed the lockdown era where I had all day to study a language. Anyway, may I ask if you have a korean podcast recommendation that is an actual conversation style where they talk about self improvement, or just an everyday topic suach as experiences, love, education, etc.? I find it hard to find a Korean podcast like that. I usually find a podcast where there is only one people speaking. Would love to hear your recommendations for conversation type podcast. Thank youuu
