This is what's wrong with many relationships today, and why the divorce rate is what, 50% or greater? Worse yet, there's no longer shame in divorce, although as the story says, both must work together to make things work. When the (honest) man leads the home, regardless of who earns the most, marriage lasts longer, if not a lifetime. Still, both partners must be loyal & open to one another, within boundaries which should had been discussed prior to marriage or cohabitation. It's OK to have prenups, just don't sneak these into the relationship to be found only during divorce. Do things the right way & both will be rewarded.

I agree with everything. Sometimes, you have to submit to your wife if you love them. Them controlling you is different. I've had to "rely" on others for a decent amount of things cause I couldn't or now can't cause of my epilepsy. Sometimes, I get caught in between is this what I truly need or want. Please help, thx.

@AndyAusman It is understandable to feel conflicted when trying to find a balance between love and independence. And especially when diseases like epilepsy come into play. While it is good to rely on your wife in times of need, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re submitting to her. It just means you recognize your weaknesses, and she helping you out in that regard is just what a good relationship is all about. You help each other in your weaknesses and you work together to build a family. If you're not sure whether a situation crosses the line into controlling behavior, it might be helpful to have an open and honest conversation with your wife about your feelings and concerns. Ultimately, your wellbeing and happiness should be a priority. I hope this helps.
