One thing I love about older vehicles you can swap out as many radios as you want. Plus the emergency flashers are right where it belongs on the steering wheel.

How things have changed. I used to upgrade car audio back in the 80's and 90's and it barely took a few min's to slide out the original, disconnect wiring and slide in the new head unit, and reconnect wiring - All using a cople of `u' shaped release keys! Cleary the motor industry has overlooked ease of access when designing the centre instrument console????

Because this is an OEM upgrade. Ford didn't want people with base model vehicles to be able to do this so wiring and all sorts of programming things were changed to make it not plug and play. At the end of the day Ford makes more money by upselling customers and that's why this process is not done by Ford or any Ford Dealers...

Why couldn't he have taken my Sony head unit? it took me centuries to record all that material from cd and vinyl on to tape! Pah!

I have this same setup in my 2012 Ford Focus! But sync hasn’t been updated in years and when I go on the Ford sync website and put my vin for my car it says error?.

I would like to upgrade my 2017 Ford Focus ST from the 4 inch to sync 3. Would i just buy the 4 to 8 inch adapter and the sync 2 to sync 3 conversion kit for the focus ?

Debating what to do. Ive got to have navigation if i upgrade. Rear camera has to stay functional and preferably OEM fit. Thinking about buying an android system from Amazon but it would be nice to have something OEM. Ouch saw your kit prices so that tells me right away im going for a new android head unit and dash bezel included for $250. Had an android unit before and was very happy. At least i can crank up Netflix while I’m out and about. Definitely not a die hard OEM guy. Nice conversion though.

Hi what year is the sync 3 you fitted the focus to load sync 3.4 on to it as far has I’m aware you cannot do it to sync 3 lower than 2018/2019 thanks

This module was from 2017. Sync 3.4 can be loaded onto any Sync 3 system 🙂

Yes!! We have a new harness that is an add-on to our current harness that taps into your OBD2 port to get the right signals to run this system on your non-Sync car! It also has a 3.5mm mono jack so you can add your own cheap microphone for voice control etc That will be put up on the site tomorrow when we get back in stock of the main conversion harness

I've got Focus Mk3.5 bought in Europe (Poland to be exact). Would this work for my car too or is there any minor difference?

Can you get someone to do this for you? If so, how much would it cost

I have this problem where if I stop my car and turn it back on 2 to 10 minutes later, the syncs system doesn't work. The radio won't work, the screen doesn't work, and neither does the USB charging. I could drive it for hours and it won't work until I stop and start the car again at least like 10 minutes into the drive. I've tried pressing the power and fast forward and nothing works. Any tips?

Use an AAWireless! amzn.to/3JEAP33 Other than crappy aftermarket android units (known to fail in just a few months) there isn't another option for Wireless Android Auto

Hello from Germany, I have the focus mk3 1.5 ecoboost and sadly sync2! You just change it and it works 😲 how? I thought the sync3 has to be updated /set to the FIN number of the car! If yes, how? If not, I would see how I get one (maybe cheap from a crashed car!

Hi there! Yep, it's as easy as grabbing the APIM/Display out of a wreck, then adding in the USB hub & GPS antenna! You'll just need to program your unit in your car with FORScan and you'll be back on the road in no time :)

When Jackson found his kit on eBay it had it with it. I usually buy them from junkyards when pulling a full kit from a 2016+ 👍

I suppose you don't have to... But if you don't it won't power on 😜 But yeah, it's necessary for the upgrade. Lots of pin changes between 4" Sync and Sync 3

Gotta program or it's gonna be set to whatever the programming the donor vehicle had. Second digit of the first APIM line should be a 3 for the camera to be on (7D0-01-01 xXxx-xxxx-xxzz)

I updated the sync 3 to 3.4 in my 2016 Ford Escape. It went well but i need to get a new newer version USB hub but I can not find a part number that will work. Does anyone know if they have found the correct hub for a 2016 ford escape?

Yes but our harness doesn't support the Sync 2 hub. It'll boot Sync 2 just fine though.

if i misspell but i am using translator hope someone can help me here I go ... buy a CM5T-19C107-JF radio to replace the CM5T-19C107-HB. all good but the aux output of my car does not work, it does not emit any sound. The question is can I program the auxiliary output with Fordscan so that it can play my files. I would be very grateful if someone can help me. Thank you all

Depends on where you get the hardware, I've had folks tell me they've gotten full setups for as little as $100 from their local wreckers. Most spend between $500-700 on their upgrade

I am prepared to buy the entire unit from your website with every bell and whistle but I have no idea who Is capable of doing the installation without damaging my car. I’d gladly pay someone to do the work as I have no clue on how to do it myself. 2015 ford escape s 2.5 (I’m doing custom modifications to)

Why don't these have rcas for subs? Too expensive to be missing that.

Very easy to add RCAs for Subwoofers -- just takes some programming and wiring. You can do it yourself or we have a harness that does it for you 👀
