Love you man, thx for the help. Additional info, because it was really hard to remove it for me: use a screwdriver to pop the 2 clips underneath out. They are right below the side torx screw holes, if you turn a flathead under them, the clips will release and you can just take the thing out without pulling the whole thing together. This is info for others of course

I dunno if this is too late, and I dunno if this is like the RS, but if you loook near the passenger footwell under where the gearshifter would be, you can pop off a panel that gives you access to all the cables you'll need.

Hey, great video. How did the Sync upgrade go? Does everything still work, like the dash screen display and all the car features? Also where did you buy your kit from?

Hi, I made this when I added a subwoofer but have since updated sync 2 to 3. It took about 2hrs and was easy to do. You can buy most of the parts from eBay but the screen and APIM are expensive.

I have just bought this exact same car and was wondering how to do this so I could upgrade the sync 2 to sync 3 for Android Auto! What parts did you use for the upgrade. I'm not a car person and very nervous I'm going to break something,!

That’s exactly what I done. You need the screen and module on the back of it (APIM) then a gps aerial from Amazon and you need to change the usb hub in the armrest then it will all work.

@@markcoe69 brill. May have to look into it. Default stock sync is horrible. One last Q if I may, with the focus you have directions and turns in the little LCD screen on the instrument cluster (between revs and Speedo) does this still work with sync 3 upgrade?

@@Shadowknightneo yes it does. With Sync 3 you can download CYANLABS and bring its firmware and maps up to the latest software for free too!

Out the goodness of my heart I made this to help people out as I couldn’t find a video showing me how to do it when I looked. I’m sorry it’s not how you wanted it. I only have 2 hands and this video was an afterthought once I had removed it. I’ll try harder next time.
