And if you have kids, get them swimming as early as possible! My parents had me in the YMCA pool before I was 6 months old. It's obviously smart from a safety standpoint, but it also fosters a lifelong love of swimming and being in the water.

The guy in the video wasn't pointing his toes when he kicked. Make sure to point your toes. Also a common mistake is to kick from your knees. Make sure you are kicking from your hips and thighs. Your knees should only bend a little bit when you kick. Also, it isn't necessary to kick a bunch. Most of your forward motion when swimming freestyle comes from your pull.

I learned to swim by myself and this is how! You have to hold onto the side of the pool keep your head up and just kick your legs constantly! Then let go of the side of the pool and keep kicking your legs, you never start swimming after you do this strategy once, you have to do it constantly, and then when you do eventually you will start swimming!!

Honestly, I feel like it's easier to change your breath when you got the speed in water, unlike this video where you learn to catch breath without actually moving at first which makes your body sink once you turn head sideway. Focus on the body movements first(strokes, kicks), then sideway breathing will become much more easier and natural.

The best way to learn to swim is to put yourself somewhere where you have to swim. Such as the deep end of the pool. Obviously have somebody there to make sure you're safe, but if you put yourself in a place where youre forced to swim, you learn quickly. When i first did breastsroke i went too far where i cant stand (i was an idiot since nobody was watching me) but i learned how to do breststroke real quick.

You can blow bubbles out from your mouth or nose! Just make sure you're inhaling with your mouth.
