Great vid--you cram a lot of info into a short amount of time. This, combined with the ppg bible, and maybe a vid on common safety pitfalls would be an awesome foundation for a new pilot.

Thank you SO much for these. I've been practicing on my own with my own wing (BGD Magic Motor - bought with an instructor checking my weight/math) before getting instruction. I've gotten the hand kiting down, laying out the glider, hooking in and Ive done about 6 full forward "launches" so far, running maybe 100 yards or so keeping it over me. I've got my first lesson Feb 11th and I'm hoping to be consistently decent at inflation and ground handling.

I have 8 aff skydives. I heard you mention that guy had skydiving experience. I've heard it can be a good thing and a bad thing. Granted I have very few jumps so not much time under canopy. The only reason I got into skydiving is because I loved flying the canopy. Not so much the whole jumping out of plane part haha. I really want to get into paramotoring.

lol six hours in a simulator. I don't know any instructor who sees any value in that.

My reason is that once you lift off the ground, you want the muscle memory and familiarity. I’ve taught students who were not in great shape that lifted off and hung for too long and got exhausted. They couldn’t get into their harness, or thought it would be easier. Being comfortable allows you to make wiser decisions during your initial flight.

@@MarcAmenson That can be achieved in 2-3 minutes, not 6+ hours. If people don't understand the difference or the benefit of sitting properly in the harness they've got a lot more to worry about. And they def didn't adjust the swing arms.
