    1. God often needs to dismantle any false ideas about what "the one" actually means. 2. God often puts you to through a painful season of discipline. 3. God will often help you identify this person by giving you valuable but painful relationship experiences with people who are not the one. 4. God will painfully mature you through the sins of others so you are equipped to display His Gospel Grace.

It took me YEARS to learn that being single does not make you inferior to a married person. But society implies that, and being sad because you're alone happens when you don't look at God and Jesus, but someone else not being there. I have repented of that idolatry, and am happy being in Christ, and whatever happens in the future is up to the LORD.

Oh man, I had been single for 7 years (19 to 26) ...during that time there were ups and downs figuring out who i am. which was uber important to be honest. I needed that growth, we all do. but at one point, I just became happy and truly content being by myself. and I was thankful for the peace and focus I had from being alone but not feeling lonely. I always have God in my heart so I never feel alone. and when I truly realized and accepted that was when a man actually came into my life. Last year my boyfriend came along. Thank u Lord 4 the blessing.

I have been married for 30 years, our marriage died due to his recently discovered repeated sexual sin over the years. It has been the most painful experience of my life. He has repented, turned to Christ and is a new man. We are working towards a completely new relationship as totally different people. I believe this video is completely applicable to my situation, as my husband is finally a new person in Christ. We should reach a place where we are in complete satisfaction in Jesus Christ as individuals prior to meeting anyone. Otherwise, we'll be prone to idolizing people and expecting them to fill a void they were never meant to fulfill. It's a sign of God's mercy and grace when He closes the doors to people like this in our lives. It may hurt at the moment because of our infatuation with someone but in retrospect, this is often identifiable as a major blessing in our lives. I pray that God would be as gentle as possible, but that ultimately I would not spurn His correction. He has our best interests at heart in light of eternity.

I believed that lie for years that God wouldn't give me more than I could handle...that is so misquoted! If we could bare it alone we would not need God at all. 🤷 God does allow us to have more than we can handle and He always provides an escape...run to Him. Cry, mourn the loss of friendship and relationship, then dry your face and ask God to teach you what was good and what you need to work on before you get married. Seek Him for His calling on your life and pursue it with everything you have in you!!!

I can admit if it wasn’t for him, I don’t think I would chase Gods heart like I am now💜It’s crazy how God works, he brought someone into my life to lead me to the lord but he needs us to spend time apart to indulge ourselves in him. I too had a similar experience years ago. I was moved to the work area with a man who had recently been hired. He liked talking about his home country, and how for many years, it was forbidden to go to church or attend a religious based school. On this, I began sharing my faith, and stories of different saints through the years. Over time, our friendship grew, and I found myself attracted to him. As wonderful as a person he was, he was not a believer. While he never expressed a romantic interest in me, I knew I couldn't compromise by dating him if he had. I think of him from time to time, and pray he has come to know the Lord.

That number 4 is so true it's probably the truest of all of them. I loved this girl years ago and she committed a sin that not only affected her, but also unknowingly to her, affected me. Looking back at it all, the lesson i've come to learn is that you will go through heartbreak so that you are able to learn to love the unlovable and show grace to those that need it most, and that also goes for your partner. People have baggage and have done things, and we're called to love them, as God loves us, filthy sinners with baggage.

God been teaching me a lot 6:33 seek the kingdom of God and all things will be added to you because God comes first and you’re going to have to have foundation because if you’re trying to live without God or have a marriage without God you’re fool because it’ll never work or you will not know how to fight the battles a healthy way

Our Ego is what makes discipline bad for us, our spirit craves discipline, however. The first feeling of love we receive is from our parents. When we are disciplined we are more refined, and we do better. They say, no pain no gain. It is important to realize the kind of influence the person has on you as there are things love does and doesn't do.

Pain comes, when you connect with your traumas within you caused by mostly the very first bad experiences with your parents/people around you. Human beings are most vulnerable when they are babies. Thats the real reason, why we suffer so much-trauma-disconnection

I haven't watched the video yet, but I laid in bed early this morning wondering why the "worldly" women seem to be happy & in relationships whereas I'm trying to live for the Lord and I've struggled with persistent loneliness & feeling that I've missed out.

  • @naniaom

What makes you think those worldly women are happy in relationship? based on social media posts? from my observations, people only post stuffs that make their life look great and happy. Trust me, all couple that look “exceptionally happy” on social media are the ones miserable. it’s like theyre trying to convince themself, “look at me, im in a great relationship , right???”. Those who are happy and secure in relationship wont bother to post so much on social media, and wont overshare stuff like kissing photos, videos etc.

@zoharstudent My thoughts exactly. Being friends with worldly women, most of them are actually pretty depressed in their relationships, but they try really hard to convince themselves and others all is well. I never actually met or have been close to a worldly girl who was happy in a relationship.

I had a worldly relationship for five years with a non Christian man. It seemed nice at first, but over time my relationship with the Lord started to suffer and I was so distracted and very miserable towards the end of that relationship. I wanted to marry this man, but the Lord did not allow it. I'm glad we didn't get married. Trust me, you're not missing much.

Man, this is so encouraging. I've been going through such a huge season of painful discipline and I keep feeling like God's "teasing" me with these relationships with the opposite sex that never actually come to any romantic fruition. But I know God is good and he doesn't work like that! I've learned so much and I've built up so much discipline and grace. Everything seems to be ramping up and when I consider all that you've said here my anticipation and hope rises up again. It's hard not to get discouraged and feel like being perpetually single is inevitable. It's easier to submit to discipline when you think of what it produces, just like it says in Hebrews 12:11! Thanks again for your anointed teachings that bring so much encouragement for those of us who are in waiting.

The relationship with the one He didn't want me to be in, was one I was in 3+ years before I met my fiancé. While in my singleness years God helped shape me into the woman He wants me to become, as I haven't arrived yet! I'm SO looking forward to our marriage in God's perfect time. You know watching this makes one realise that we have so many idols in general. Coming to think of it: even things like focusing on "getting that new job, or a promotion and even a new possession" qualifies as idols. At the end of it all. God should always be first (Matthew 6:33), no matter what. I acknowledged only recently that my priorities have been wrong and am glad to say I can now identify right from wrong so I can re-shift my focus back to the One That should always be First - God/Jesus ✨✨✨✨ Thank You Mark for this video. God bless you.

You hit the nail on the head that the soul mate is not biblical. Although I am trying to educate myself, and ask God to educate and prepare me, I feel as though I am still falling into this trap of envisioning this perfect person that exists solely for me. Although I always wish to avoid painful relationship experiences, I am declaring that I am now ready willing and able to go through anything God feels like it's necessary for me to go through in order to find who it is God truly has for me.
