When I use the phrase, “the one,” I’m not talking about a soul mate. I’m not saying that there is only one perfect divinely ordained person for everyone and you can thus marry someone who is not the one for you. What I am referring to is simply the person God planned for you to marry. Because God allows us to sin, God allows us to marry people he is telling us not to marry. Once you marry someone, that person then becomes the one for you. In God’s sovereignty he allows for us to make bad choices while still being able to accomplish his will for us. But before you are married, God has something to say about who you marry. There is one specific person out there that he wants you to marry and there are other people out there God does not want you to marry. I believe this because according to Scripture, God has a sovereign plan for everything. Therefore, to be theologically consistent we have to believe that even our marriage partners are included in God’s one sovereign plan that he has preordained to occur. For example, Ephesians 1:11 states, “In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will.” It doesn’t say God works “all things except relationships according to the counsel of his will.” It says God “works all things according to the counsel of his will.” There are two types of “God’s will” in the Scriptures. The first type of God’s will is his “sovereign will.” This is what God predestined to occur and will always happen because God is going to make it happen. The second type of God’s will is God’s “prescribed will.” This is what God has commanded us to do in his word. It is God’s will that we obey God’s word. We can break this type of “God’s will.” When it comes to what God wants for you, we have to look at the second type of God’s will - his will of command. Why? Because God’s sovereign will works in the sinful choices of people but still produces the outcomes God wants. No one can fully articulate how God’s will and man’s free will work together, but in Scripture it’s clear that man can break God’s prescribed will while God can still accomplish his sovereign will. This means that God lets us make bad choices and reap negative consequences and still sovereignly produces the exact outcomes he wants. But again, within God’s sovereign plan there will be sinful things that we do and that occur to us, and when we look through the lens of God’s “prescribed will” we know this means things happen that God does not approve of (meaning sin). All that to say, throughout the course of your life, God will be leading you to accomplish his will by leading you to obey his word - his will of command. Therefore, when we apply this truth to the process of meeting the person he wants you to marry, we can say that when God is leading you to the one he wants for you, he will never tell you to marry someone that he already told you not to marry in his word. For example: -God would never tell you to marry an unbeliever because in 2 Corinthians 6:14 and 1 Corinthians 7:39 he already commanded us not to do this. -God would never tell you to marry someone living in sexual sin and who is encouraging you to commit sexual sin because God says it’s his will that we be sanctified from sexual sin in 1 Thessalonians 4:3. -God would never tell you to marry someone who is abusing you because God commands us to guard our hearts in Proverbs 4:23. Again, you could choose to marry someone like this but that would not mean God led you to marry this person. It would be a sin to marry someone who God tells you not to marry in his word. When God is leading you to marry the person he wants for you, this relationship will always be biblical because God never contradicts himself, for “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). 2 Timothy 3:16-17 also states, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.”

Thank you, this clarifies many things for me. So, if a person sins in 2 different "marriages" because at the time this person was young, naive, thought they had the go-ahead from God, both "marriages" turned out to be disasters, abusive, horrible. First one ended in divorce, 2nd one annulled. Has this person blown it, will they get a chance still to have God bring them a mate He chooses and be able to have joy and peace in a God-honoring marriage?

I cannot agree enough with #2!!! I can write a book on the many, many times I thought that "this guy" was God's choice for me...only to find out I was wrong. I depended too much on my feelings, my infatuated daydreams, my placement of random circumstances as God's signs for me .... all the while NOTHING materialized between me and this guy. I'm the one praying about him, seeking godly counsel about him, noticing this guy, having my mind filled with dreams of a wedding together, having so many feelings for him .... meanwhile, this guy is off in his own world without a clue that any of this is going on (think Gwyneth Paltrow and Babyface "Just My Imagination"). Then, when I finally get the hint that it's not gonna happen, I move on to the next guy. Lather, rinse, repeat. Brother Mark is totally right ... if this is a leading from God, there will be agreement with the BOTH of you. It won't just all be in your head

Correct. God will never create confusion that's why he gives confirmation on both sides. The birth of Jesus as messiah was announced to both Mary & Joseph & the message was the same

1. Your relationship with this person will be in obedience to God's leading in all three ways that you can obey God's leading: Direct obedience to clear commands in the Scripture; Wise application of Biblical principles through the Spirit's leading; Live every second of your day in a way that honours God. 2. Eventually, there must be a mutual agreement that this is happening between you both. 3. You will get married to this person.

Fear has a energy that is picked up on, if your giving off that energy it's like a stink. Same as being afraid you wont meet someone will. God is the only thing were supposed to fear, not death of the flesh or rejection. Fear will make you settle into a relationship that leaves you wanting and you'll end up wishing you were alone, the only thing worse than being single is being in an unhappy relationship. God bless!

It is hard to find a honest, decent and Godly man who is faithful to the Lord and others. It is not easy for a woman today to find a true Godly man.

I agree! It must be mutual or reciprocal. Everything will fall into place as confirmation that God wants you to marry the person. 💕

The best advise from this video is that both people KNOW that it's perfect. That's the subconscious thought placed by the Lord in the mind when they both meet the one. As depressing as this might be, it's probably the best because if it's one sided love, then it could lead to complications later on. Never lose hope people. Keep praying and trusting the Lord. I guess when in love with "the one", everything might seem perfect, or even if not, they both will know that together they can handle all the problems! Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Mark. I definitely feel it. I don't know if she is there but if I feel this strongly about it, she must feel something. I think we've both had a long time being single and we have to open our minds and hearts and lives to each other. We're still in that separation stage working on our lives and our hearts getting ourselves ready for each other. I am waiting on her because I think she is behind me in this process. I think she's around 3 years behind me so in 3 years she'll be where I am today. Hopefully sooner.

As months passed, when I made a point to speak to her or give her office appropriate gifts, I kept telling myself "if it's not mutual, it's not happening". Though I was distracted with my mother in the hospital, looking back, I never got a compliment or a "thank you" from that girl despite our pleasant interactions.

Thanks on time. I pray and talk to God about this the other day I'm going to have to wake up read and watch this again. My fiance of 1 year and been together for 6 years wants to get married real soon. But I keep asking God is this what he wants me to do I get answers like God knows what he is doing and what u are saying as well. Our relationship been through so much with God and each other. Get rid of all social media first. Too much distractions come with it and leads you to do not good things because of feelings. When two finally meet only then create maybe a FB together. Never have a “just a friend” with the opposite sex if you want someone to stay.

If you lack self control, yes that would be a good thing. If you are more mature and following the word of God, that's not going to matter because you're going to have self control.

Not every person you marry is one God has for you. God gives us Free Will to make our own choices, even if it isn’t the right ones & sometimes we don’t make the wisest choice🤷🏼‍♀️

I just recently ended my marriage because it was not God’s will for the reason stated due to sexual sin and abuse. I pray to Jesus daily to forgive me!

Jesus sorted your sin with His death and resurrection, however you are correct in that we need to bring our personal sin to God regularly. Where you are struggling is that you have done this but your feelings are lying to you because you feel that you haven't been forgiven when you have. This is a psychological problem, you need to believe God's word that He forgives you when you repent otherwise you will be trapped and unable to move on and live the life you should, worse you may repeat your past mistakes because it hasn't been dealt with in your mind. If you are unable to do that on your own you need to get help, do not be ashamed, sometimes things can be to difficult to handle alone, speak to friends or church leaders that you trust to find a good Christian counsellor who has the knowledge and experience to help you. @@cameronwaddel4072 thank you! That was what I needed to hear that and you’re right, I haven’t forgiven myself. I have been isolated for so long that i struggle to get close to people and I do need to find good Christian people that I can talk to and have mentor me! Thanks again!

He does it for people trying to get away from Him, many stories where they bump into Christians everywhere. In your case you are going towards Him, He says seek Me and I will be found. No one can or ever will love you more than the Lord. His vocation for you is His gift to you. When you receive Holy Communion, ask Him what state of life you can best serve Him, and don't deny Him. You don't say no to the Lord. He is perfect love and perfect wisdom. He is all knowing. He plans the best for all of us, His children.🌹🌹🙏🌹🌹

I watched your videos and a week ago the guy I like called me when I was praying asking for a sign and was thinking about him but currently aren’t spiritually matched he is more spiritual and I’m more in the Bible do you think that was God or the devil. I’m wondering if he is the right guy but the wrong time. Any advice?? I know God used me as example to him while he was here. But he hasn’t reached out to me since. He asked me lots of personal questions and even asked about kids but he doesn’t see us getting married we only know each Otis like for a week I think and I have known him for a short time.

I guess it’s too late for me since I’ve been divorced twice: first marriage I was young & made lots of mistakes. Second marriage, he was verbally, emotionally, & mentally abusive. Neither time did I ask Gods direction. I didn’t know or understand anything about an equally yoked marriage. I didn’t even know this term until a few months ago.

My boyfriend is a Christian and we both go to the church (because he is a Christian and 2 years ago i considered it too but i was scared) so he feels like he's the one for me❤ But i don't know how to know? Yes this is so true, but Hè wants me to be alone with Him now. There's no emotional space for a man. Excualy God is jalous 2. Maybe because He is the Only one we need? Ik dunno, He is jaloous.

I believe that the lord has revealed to me the name of my husband.. As anthony...and i have a friend named anthony...But...He isn't a christan..And he isn't like most guys who flirt or..Anything. He has respect for my beliefs And we use to like eachother before i got saved...could this mean something?

I know who the one is

I've been single for 9 years.. I'm ok with that.. quite frankly I've pretty much gave up on love. But what would it mean if a girl approaches you and is into you and everything is going good after talking for a bit she showed me music plenty of eye contact and out of nowhere the next day you never see her again? Basically a girl was hired at my job for a day because she was only able to work 1 day a week. Ever since i haven't seen or heard of her. Can't get her out of my mind.

I've been struggling with this recently because I took time to work on my relationship with God and healing after a break up, and not engaging in any type of relationship with any guy. I've stood my ground and want to trust that God will reveal him to me when his time for me is right. But there have been a few people that have come forward pursuing me, and I'm kind of torn. They're good guys, and seem serious. But I'm not attracted to them like that, let alone feel a connection. I'm scared now that, am I the problem? Could I be too picky? Could God have brought one of them my way and am I the problem for not wanting to give it a chance? Because I'm scared that I'd end up with someone just because they were there, at the expense of my own happiness. In One of your videos about waiting for the one, you said one could wait for someone with unreasonable reasons like maybe they'll like me if I wait long enough. And I don't want to be that person but still so torn. Apologies for the lengthy text😥🙏🏽

Dating should be held loosely :) I think it's wise to give a good guy a chance if there is any hope of liking him. But if the feelings never come or after a date or two you are still feeling the same, then just be honest and tell him you don't see a future together. So I don't think you are too picky, but you might want to give some guys a chance to see if your feelings change and you then do want them in that way

Is it possible that God has not purposed anyone for some people. Therefore some people are meant to be alone.

This is incredibly scary. Mark you Uploaded an amazing video a few days ago and your 1st point was to admit to God but you want to be married and you said some things that I needed to hear like it's OK to want a human to depend on its OK to want a human to go through life with it doesn't mean you love God any less if you want to be married. I need it to hear that and I admitted to God all of the above I wanted a mate I wanted a husband to do life with I wanted a husband to depend on to come home to to touch to be verbal I intimate with. I wanna husband to grow old with to share financial burdens with. It feels so good to be so vulnerable to God. It feels so good to not have to be strong all the time I think that's the most draining thing in the world when you're single is to just know that you have no one to depend on except yourself. You have to make decisions on your own you have to move that chair from one Room to the other. You have to earn enough income to see you through to your death. There is nobody else that's going to help you with your income it's all on your shoulders and obviously God provides for you but he provides for a couple too. Being single is scary and the scariest part is to depend on God to provide for you

I have learned to embrace being single and how empowered I feel 😁 Free to make choices...YEA! Free to spend time with whomever or where ever..Yea! Free to create me and my life, home, friends...it is exciting and I literally walk through my day thanking God for every little thing. When you choose to be happy each day..your inner light glows...good things come..even good people. 🌸🙏🌸

@@overcomer4226 Being single shouldn't be a scary feeling to you. In all honesty if you have that mindset. It seems as though you are not ready for marriage yet. Prior to marriage you must develop a healthy and complete relationship with Christ and self first. You have to learn how to fully trust God and rely on God in your singleness. Because even in marriage, you and your spouse must fully trust and rely on God for everything. He must be the head of your life first as individuals, in order to have a healthy, successful, and blessed marriage. I pray that all goes well for you in the mighty name of Jesus. Hi,I'm also single and it has been a long time since I was in a relationship, love is great though and I wish I can find someone special.

I had experience trying to court a woman in the same church and the same faith. But that person doesn't have any response at all, so the question, is the person really the one that God is leading or there is someone that God is really leading to? Just kinda confusive.. I tried also having a relationship with unequally yoke with non christian that would end up broke ups..

Hmmm I know this contradicts What you have said but I do not believe there is one single person for another person I believe we could be suited to many different people. I believe there are many people we could have a happy marriage with and God's will would be carried out. What I find very interesting is what you said about people could sin yet God's sovereign will is still accomplished.

Yes, "the one" is not the person you would be most happy with. It's not a "soul mate." I believe "the one" is simply the person God wants you to marry. I believe God has a plan and a specific person in that plan, but it's not as though there is a chance you could marry the wrong soul mate and thus screw up all kinds of other matches. In reality God have created certain people to come together to do His will. You can be content and happy with someone. But the main thing is letting the Lord lead you to the one that He have for you to do His will. If He intend for you to marry. Some people marry the person that God led them to marry, but that person pass away. And the Lord can lead them to marry someone else later on, but it is still in His plan. And they are to become one, and focus on the Father's business. It is not just about finding someone you think will make you happy.

I believe I did marry the one' even though we got divorced. We were both believers. It changed both of us although very painful. I learned so much about myself during the decades of being divorced. Although I don't recommend this but I see Gods hand in both our lives. I wouldn't have said this even 8 years ago. We did make our peace.
