    Yeah, they are burning preparation and becoming tired by playing among themselves to favor the Slavic federations that control FIDE. The best the Indians have going into fighting with Indian Players. Talk about having the foot in the balance to crown Nepo. Nepo may win, but he will never be after this trickery the world champion.

    Well. I think the game is a perfect example of how classical chess has evolved to be a matter of memory and work with engines. It's the same reason Fischer and Magnus stopped playing and encouraging the game and format.

    @@AnasKhan-ud4ol I agree. With the prep work and the opening prep etc, almost every game has at least the first 10-20 moves played by "rote". There doesn't seem to be much of the "brilliance" that used to be associated with the game 20 or 30 years ago.

    Yep FIDE forced the Indians and the Americans to burn the best of the preparations and all the innovations playing against it each other to favor the Slavic federations. Probably want to turn Nepo into the world champion by puting the foot in the balance.

    Anand made a point : deferred Schliemann is actually something that Surya (VD’s second) is playing recently - so being unprepared for this response by Pragg would be hurting VD (and his team) a lot!

    Pragg knows Vidit is very goofy in complicated type of positions. Vidit really shines in simple positions but pragg got advised by visi to go wild against vidit.

    Why Vidit didnt capture the bishop as soon as possible with the knight ? It was obvious even for me (2200) that Black pushing the pawns on the King side while keeping the bishop was deadly

    Nxf5 is already a mistake - simply castles puts all the tactics in white's favour, the pawn is irrelevant.

    Yes you could capture the g2 pawn but if you do that, you run into checkmate.
