4 EPIC Battles Ended In The Most Shocking KO In Boxing History - Pacquiao vs Marquez
Спорт
Like Ali vs Frazier, the fights between Manny Pacman and Juan Dynamite Marquez helped define an era of boxing. The incredible footwork, skilled defense, incredible offensive counter punching and the indomitable spirit of both warriors made this perhaps the greatest rivalry boxing had ever seen. Let's break down the tactics, tricks, strategies, and mental toughness of both fighters.

I love how much respect they have for each other. Both of them never bad mouth the opponents. Such classy fighters!
Greatest boxing rivalry of the 21st century.
Hard to blame Marquez for not wanting to go back to the wheelhouse for a 5th. The damage he took from those big shots must've took it's toll. Pacquiao was never the same either. Stylistically, he knew he had to change if he wanted to continue to be an elite level boxer.

Lol Marquez closed the chapter. What more was it to prove? He is SIX years older, so Marquez was already retiring.
@redghettosun

@@mikeyrose4183 Well, he didn't retire til 2017. He was calling out Canelo and Cotto in 2014. With the money involved, you can believe he thought long and hard about another one with Pacquiao.

@@redghettosun Another beat down? Keep your wishful thinking. Marquez dropped him down twice, the last one being a total KO-- unconacious. Now imagine the ensuing fifth fight? Marquez would retire Paquiao in cruches .

@@mikeyrose4183 Let's stick to history and facts. Marquez said no to a fifth. Not Pacquiao. He fought 2 more times after. Lost to Bradley and won a decision against Alvarado. Marquez wanted a farewell fight but got injured training for that and retired officially in 2017. Pacquiao kept boxing and said goodbye in 2021.The End.
The first Pacquiao/Marquez fight is one of my favorite fights of all time. When Manny knocked Juan down 3 times in that first round- my 2nd favorite first round behind Hagler/Hearns- I thought the fight was over. Wasn’t if, but when. But Marquez stuck in there and fought his ass off, just kept coming at him, I was so impressed. Both guys were so great that night the by the end of the 12th, I couldn’t decide on a winner, which is what makes the draw kind of perfect for that match. As much as I hate draws, the first fight outcome is pretty right on.

That fight made me a Marquez fan. To come back the way he did from that first round was nothing short of incredible. What a fight.
"So... Like 2 nations in an arms race. 💪🏃 The Filipino and the Mexican kept improving their attacks and counter-punches." 30:27 Word play like this is magnificent! I love the rhetoric and tone of voice in these videos, True analysis and introspect from people indulged in the sport and life of boxing🥊 Thanks for the content ✌️
41:02 Considering how unfathomably fast a fighter's mind can process information when dialed in, the amount of time Marquez took to absorb his win must have felt like an eternity.
One of the best rivalry in boxing! Doesn't matter who won cause I don't think we'll ever witness something like this every again.
i don't box but the mental and physical that goes into it is so interesting to learn about, maybe one day when i get more time

That last counter marquez threw was the single greatest counter I've ever seen the timing couldn't have been any more precise to land it mid weight shift before the foot lands with the full weight of a right cross is the single greatest counter I've ever laid eyes on
Have been watching boxing for 65 years, best real, honest to good boxing I've ever seen.
When I saw 42 minutes I was soooo happy!!! I love this type! I like the short ones too but…lol.
Yes! When I saw the Morales trilogy breakdown video I knew this one has to come next! Great video
They fought 4 times. Why skip the third?
On the 2nd fight with Timothy Bradley, the latter attempted to emulate the right hand Marquez used to KO Pacquiao only to find out that trick doesn't work anymore. Reminder that this is the same Timothy Bradley who defeated Marquez.
you"re spoiling us David, many thanks
That KO in the 4th fight.....jeez I thought for sure that was the end for Manny. Just brutal

That shows how amazing of a champ Pacquiao is. I mean most boxers wouldn't have come back from that.
One of the best rivalries in boxing ever. I'm Filipino, but I became a Marquez fan the moment he got up three times in round 1 and fought with a broken nose all the way to round 12. That was amazing. Not that many boxers can regain composure after getting knocked down by Pacquiao, but Marquez is just that good and iron-willed.

First fight between the 2 warriors is a classic dog fight, no holding or throwing illegal blows, just pure grit, heart n skill. Kudos to both Pacquiao n Marquez

l noticed the thumbnail change:p It would bring more attention to put the 7 kos on the thumbnail tho, more precisely for those who never watched those wars
Wait a minute, how TF do you not a score a knockdown? That judge bet on the fight 100%
I’m glad you pointed out the right hook that Pacquiao absorbed in the 5th rd and also that Pacquiao stumbled into the same right hand which imo was a key reason he didn’t absorb it as well as the one he got hit with in the 5th round 🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊
I wonder if the pause after Manny getting KOed was just the time it would take anyone to realize they had literally turned PacMan off after four incredible fights. Thank you for the analysis. Boxing like this is so fascinating and entertaining.
No trashtalking needed, all business. Even the headbutts accidentally and they both shrugged it off. Warriors!
Never underestimate fighters who started on an empty stomach🙂
The most interesting fact about this war was that the 4 fights, 3 of which were title bouts, was they took place in 3 different weight classes. They literally followed each other to do battle. True warriors and certainly an all-time rivalry. Both deserve the ultimate respect for stepping into the ring against each other - for 4 epic battles.
Kid. You got talent.
That KO of Manny was the most shocking thing I have ever experienced in boxing.
This rivalry is as anime as it can get.
This may be the greatest 4 fight series of all time. And Marquez really got a granit/iron/titanium chin. Ffs man 1/4 of one of those shot im probably dead lmao
These were so amazing. Real Hajime No Ippo shit

Please do a floyd mayweather vs manny pacquiao breakdown please 🥺?.
Is it just me or you forgot to put the 3rd fight?
Worst decision for Pacman is by keep giving him a rematch... Floyd wont for sure 😂
I'm filipino, Marquez is my idol
🥊
DUDE THE FIRST FIGHT WASNT A "SPLIT DECISION"...IT WAS A DRAW..and THE THIRD JUDGE DIDN'T MAKE A MISTAKE
I still remember the silence & shock in the room when Manny hit the canvas…
So. What's that like a 10-6 first round? Damn, should have kept bobbin and weavin
Do a video on pitbull cruz next

Where’s the third?
It was a incredible fight series, but I will never understand why Pacquiao got in the ring with that man a fourth time. The previous 3 fights were a war. If I win 2 out of 3 of those, sorry bruh but I'm taking my chips and calling it a career.

l guess he wanted the fourth to have a clear winner since the 3 was the closest one, l do believe pac won the first and the second tho, the second one arguably being pacquiao most clear victory
@californio1850
Ай бұрын
Well, Pac didn't give him the immediate rematch. He fought Bradley after the third and suffered a disputed loss. So between that "loss" and many people having Marquez winning the third, Pac's status took a hit and he was looking to get back on track with a definitive win over Marquez since their previous 3 meetings had been close. At the time, there was still the belief that Marquez could KO him with more aggression and Roach was telling Pac to channel his younger self. However, in retrospect, telling an aging fighter to fight like his younger more aggressive/reckless self against his toughest rival obviously wasn't the wisest thing.
these fights make Mayweather look like a runner against Pac.
lucky punch indeed
You totally skipped the 3rd fight.

Pac is in no position to claim high ground: prior to the third fight when Roach questioned Marquez bulking up, Marquez responded by calling team Pac's bluff and offering to do blood testing if team Pac agreed, but team Pac was adamantly opposed to blood testing. And team Pac didn't ask for blood testing in the 4th fight either despite being the A side. The ironic part is Roach himself later questioned Pac's trainer Ariza and raised suspicions about the mystery "shakes" he was giving them.
