How did you go about getting booked for your first few gigs? Did you reach out to bars and promoters in the area?

I had friends who knew I was into DJ'ing and linked me in on little in-store gigs and private events that they heard about. I also submitted my "DJ resume/EPK" to several jobs and gigs that were posted on job sites looking for DJs. That's how I landed my first touring DJ gig with a signed recording artist.
