You are so correct. Ram are super sensitive when it comes to bulbs. I bought a taillight socket for the rear light because it kept blowing bulbs, it was burnt looking when I looked. I got one off Amazon for $7 and it threw a warning. I bought a OEM from Dodge for $30 and it fixed the code. I compared the two socket and the OEM one housing was a little longer than the Amazon one. I’m sure it had the can-bus resisters built in. Okay use OEM on these trucks.

I am adding the same light on my 2005 Dakota. Are all of the last steps required, or can I just hook up the new 3rd brake light?

Can you do all leds in the truck without creating a code. I seen your last vid of led for the bumper. I also have a 4th Gen 5.7Hemi Great content keep it up.

How is it supposed to seal? Mines gaped at the top but the corners and fine

Hey brother, i got this exact same one and just threw it on there. Is it supposed to sit perfectly flush like OEM? This one is tight and works, just looks like it’s not sitting in its spot 100%

I have an led CHML and used alfaobd to switch to led ....... Still get the lamp out issue. Really dont want to have to ise resistors 😢

So once you make the change with the Alpha OBD is that just the brake light position or the whole truck is now LED lights compliant?

That was just for the 3rd brake light there is settings for every bulb 👍

Hi! I came here looking for any news to mod the 3rd brake light on my 2004 Dodge Dakota Truck into a rapid blink system. Will i run into the same RAM problem of my Dakota Truck thinking I no longer have a Halogen Bulb in there?

Well well. So far, this small 3rd Brake flasher Kit looks promising - kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZoaFm7CSqdiYqpM.html -- I see I may need to check if I have an incandescent bulb or an LED bulb up top on the old truck. Living near Hollywood is pure craziness these days. The worst driving hours, there, are from 1:30am to 4:00am . I've seen plenty a vehicle come up on me at a red light intersection, then swerve around me and keep going right thru the stopped light intersection (LOL and that wasn't even a daily/nightly Police Chase going on). We all know in the near future, all Cars will come with Blinker/Flasher Lights Factory Installed. The Automobile Industry needs their Customers alive and not dead in body bags awaiting a Morgue pick-up.

It’s not wasting energy it’s just slowing down the current. It’s a resistor not a waster.

My third brake light gave out at 40,000 km I was going to switch it but decided not to since most common leaks come from there but when Ive seen a recon led light for $400 cdn I def won't touch that third brake light 😂 won't give codes but it's expensive AF

Will I have to keep this obd scanner connected to the truck afterwards so the brake light error message doesn't come back up? or is this a permanent fix? About to purchase one but its $100 and then I have to buy alfaobd also

You don't have to keep it plugged in once you make the changes to the settings and the settings are saved you're good to go you can unplug it

Where did you get that case for your OBDLink? Did it come with it? If so, I feel ripped off because mine didn't come with a case. Great video as always. Thanks

The AlphaOBD MX+ comes with the zip up case and in a box i keep mine in the case and box not sure about other AlphaOBD versions if it has the case or not

It is possible to install the third brake light with the camera on a 2022 ram 2500 with regular third stop light? Thanks

Yes, but you have to install a custom camera harness and reprogram the radio.

I bought the same light and the obd from your link, I'm trying to set the light the way you did through my android phone but the layout is just not the same, is there anyway you could probably make a video with android please 🙏

Look on your driver door or door frame there's a sticker there for the paint code or you can pull up your build sheet or go to the dealership they can pull the build sheet and tell you fyi don't buy any touch up paint from Walmart, autozone or any part store it will NOT match your paint ONLY buy from the dealership they will have it in stock or order it for you and it will be the correct paint you need

such an ugly ass gray colour,it needs something to lighten,an brighten it up, like some red an black pinstriping,or i dont know what,but each to there own,at least its not a phord or shivvvy...
