Wow. Never would have guessed that was completely 3-D printed. Beautiful finish and weathering

Thanks Gregory! The best part is it is functional! That little micro switch is a 250v 5 amp switch too, I'm looking forward to someone taking it and making it into a full blown escape room puzzle. I'm actually thinking of selling these as finished props. Not sure how much demand there is though.

Everyone needs to have access to a knife switch, lol. I have been in the escape room mentality lately and I think I'm going to do a whole bunch of things like this. Hope you had a good Halloween season Monster!

Truly a must-have for every mad scientist lab! I love it, Samhain! It looks so real, and you can actually pick it up with one hand. (The old slate ones I have weigh a ton!) Hey, did you see the plastic version that Spirit Halloween released this year for its animatronics?

I have played with some of the old ones as well, and yes I saw the ones at Spirit. Everyone is watching the animatronics, and here I am trying to look down inside the cardboard box body of the switch to see how they made it work. I'm a real hoot, I deconstruct to pieces everything I see! Thanks for watching as always Fraidy.

Thanks Da-share! I have been delving into 3d prop designing a lot lately, and its hard to pull myself back as 3d printing is such an amazing tool. Glad you liked the build!

I am disappoint you didn’t simulate wear where the blade slides into the contact!

Ahah! That will come naturally the more the switch is being used! I guess you could paint wear onto that specific spot, it would all depend on what you used it for. The main power switch on an ancient phone exchange would likely have some wear to it. Now I think I need to send this to you I want to see what you end up hooking it into for your next video. lol. Thanks for watching!

So, does the plan mean that you get the files...or a printed piece?

  • @SamhainPropworks

The plan is just the STL files to print one or many for yourself :)

Though I might actually offer this one as a pre-printed finished prop as well! Watch Samhain.ca if I decide to go that direction!
