3D Pinwheel Quilt Block Tutorial
In this video tutorial I show you how to make an easy 3D Pinwheel Block. If you use precut 5" x 5" squares like I did in this tutorial then you won't even need a rotary cutter or ruler!
This is a fun little block that can be whipped up into a variety of projects like a wallhanging, a mug rug or table runner.

Nice and clear! Thanks, Vanessa. I watched another tutorial on preparing a 3D pinwheel, and it was certainly not like yours. Thank you for carefully explaining everything! Pat Berne
I am new to quilting, love your block. I also love the sun scenery quilt on your wall.
Love how she is so clear on directions and repeats herself for our benefit.
Once more, another simple to follow tutorial. Made a pillow slipcover using your tutorial and layer cakes.
Enjoyed the tutorial.
I just bought my first sewing machine at 55. I've never sewn before and will admit to being nervous. Your lessons are fantastic! I think I can do this! Thanks for offering this for newbies like me.
I love these pinwheel blocks! You are a fantastic instructor!
Thank you Vanessa! Love your tutorials.
Such a cute block, thanks! Love how easy it is too, especially if using the 5 inch charm squares. I love it with the sashing as well.
I have some really cute charm packs just waiting to be made into a baby quilt. I love the 3-D concept in this block!! And no cutting??? LOVE IT. Thanks Vanessa for always giving good tutorials. (I think you showing the mistake will save me from time w/ my seam ripper, too!!!)
Absolutely adorable block. I Luv LUV yo tutorials. Thanx 4 sharing your creativity.
Once again a great tutorial! I will make a table runner with sashing blocks in between!
super cute block!
I love this block! Thanks!
I love your new studio, your tutorials are so helpful. Oh! I love you Jamberry wraps :)
Can't wait to try it. Super cute!
Just watched this. Was thinking it would be to amazing in Black/red or in purples / greens. Love this one. Thank you
great tips on bulky sewing. Another from Karen Black of "Just get it done Quilts," a couple folds of fabric as a bumper to hold the back of the pressor foot while sewing up to thicker folds helps getting over the humps.
I would love to see tutorial also for wall hanging right behind you! I 'm planning to do the 3D pinwheel half the size and sew a ribbon on to make a small tree ornament and maybe a matching throw pillow!
Love this block! I see a pillow for my great-niece from the charm pack she chose last visit! 👍🏼
