How To Quilt An Easy 3-D Pinwheel Block-And/Or Make It Into A Pillow!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

#sisterchicksquilting Super Easy & Cute! Is a great descripton for this block. You can find my directions on how to make the block on my website.
Also in this video I talk about the quilt show at Paducha, KY. It's a phenominal show if you ever get a chance to go, run don't walk. I've been following my friend Heathers instqagram posts whose there in the Gammill Booth. I also follow April Story Quilting and she is there now. I'm putting the link to her channel below so you can all see her report on the quilt show, which should be about next week.

What a great project, the themes are endless. The pillow is absolutely gorgeous. I also watches April’s vlog, her outtakes are hilarious and both of our cats are named Oliver. My Oliver loves to lay right in front of the sewing machine. Have to stop and give him so loving or there is no sewing happening.

Another great idea for spring pillow cover love ❤️ it I have just picked up fabrics to make another table runner for my sister I am going to use the strip method that you used to make the carrot table runner I am just going to make it a rectangle runner using the strips Then binding its not to fancy but it is easy for me as a beginner I am new to this quilting addiction lol 😆 I had to chuckle with the overlap on the pinwheel cushion Wrote that one down to remember Good tip You always make it look so easy Loved the 5 pinwheel cushion the softer spring colors beautiful Take care and happy sewing 🧵 🪡 Can't wait to see more

Thanks for watching Joanne. The quilt as you go method is a super easy way to make table runners and placemats that look complicated. I get the biggest kick out of April…especially her little kitty who loves the spotlight. 😝🐾😝🐾 love the 3D pinwheel. But I really love the way you quilted it…can I assume you just used the “draw boundary” feature and individually stitched each section? I’ve played around with custom quilting a little but this pillow makes me want to do it more. Thanks Miss Di for a great tutorial. You always have something in your videos that makes me laugh. I hope you and the engineer have a marvelous weekend. 🤗🤗

That’s exactly what I did Debbie. Only I did connect them using snap to endpoint. I used the spoon foot and held the pinwheels back a little bit so I could so I could stitch close to them. I had to think about being funny this time. And then I remembered I did the Kilroy was here shtick. I hope to get a lot of sewing done this weekend, Miss Di😍 Oh and glad you watch April, I think she’s a hoot!

I do this sort of "envelope" back on pillows. If you turn one end (the top back side) inside out, get the pillow in one end, then you fold the inside out end to the right way, it's easier to get the pillow in. I also use this method on my rice heat pack covers. I do love those pin wheels. I am going to try this soon!

I was thinking about looking up how to do these just the other day, and then you come up with the tutorial. I made a pillow for my granddaughter for Spring with pieced tulips and thought I would make her new covers for different Holidays. (Last year it was table runners for each Holiday) This has to be the next one. She always gets so excited when I make her something, even a mug rug for her new job. So I keep making things.
