Recent subscriber here. Nice review. Even though I don't have a 390, I have spent more money on various windscreens than I can bear to calculate. Getting a good level of wind protection is so important to me, for comfort and hearing protection (yes, with earplugs). The 390 is a possible future bike for me, so your multiple trials are a great help. Looking forward to the AirFlow test results.

Hello Damon, thank you for watching, and if course subscribing! The 390 is a great bike. Not without its issues, which most bikes have... But nothing insurmountable. And the fact that it starts out less expensive than most new bikes, makes fixing them less painful. 😁 The new screen review will be out in a few week. I have been using it since October. - Frank

Trying different screens can be time consuming, but when you find the right one in the right position you are a winner. Very well made video mate. Enjoyed it very much. If you need any help with the "Italian language" just let me know Frank. Ride safe bro. Got my like.

Excellent review Frank! The Givi screen looks good and as you showed in this video, does well to keep most of the wind off of you. The new one looks like it will block a bunch more wind when fully raised. Great tip on ordering direct from Givi! might do that in the future for a windscreen for the 1050. Cheers!

Oh yeah! I do have that new Givi Airlow (AF7711) windscreen on my 390 Adventure and am very happy with it. I do mainly highway while commuting every day. It is very comfortable; no wind (and almost no rain) at my body and helmet, due to the "special" airflow as you wil probably explain in your next video 😉

Thanks. Nice review. I have found that the Parabellum shield on my DR650 is not stout enough to support the inexpensive Amazon extension. It bounces around big time.

Hello Ola, whats the weather like in Sweeden this time of year? I picture no motorcycles on the road! I like the sliding one more. The reason being its just better at channeling air at highway speeds. No more need for an add-on screen, and it's still low enough when at the lowest setting to see over it and get some air on warm days. - Frank

Hello Kyle, I have and it provided excellent coverage, however, it had the same problem (for me) as the Givi Touring scene I tried. The top of the screen was vibrating at speed. Drove me nuts! Personal preference of course, but it's a vibey bike and the taller screens vibrate to distraction for me. The airflow is the onky "tall" screen that's been OK for me. - Frank

Looking forward to the review of the new windscreen. I have a rally raid knock off like AVD matt put on, but haven’t installed yet (lazy). Also, was the cost still cheaper ordering from Italy even with taxes/duties etc? (I’m in Canada, so maybe that’s different in the US?).

Hello James, it was cheaper at the time. The exchange rate fluxuates. When I ordered the Euro was down. We do not have the same sort of import taxes levied at purchase that Canada does. From what I understand, it's always more to get goods into Canada. - Frank

Generally I’ve found that ordering from Carpe MOTO in Italy can have huge saving even with shipping, just have to make a larger order to maximize savings. I got a great deal on the pannier racks and top rack from their site.

I have a KTM 890 adventure r and I want this windshield (the air flow version the new one) , but I have a question, what happens if I travel offroad with the windshield and the extension installed, in the lowest position, does it work? Because I know I can take the second screen out, but the thing is, where I live, I need to be on the road a lot to find off-road roads, so I need wind protection when I'm traveling on the road, until I get to the roads. dirt, so I need both protections, I raise the windshield when I'm on the road and lower it when I get to the off-road paths, will it work? Or will it vibrate a lot on the ground? Please give ne your advise

Taller Givi 7710DT - Have you considered the same shield in the taller version that adds 10 cm in height? Would also appreciate your opinion on the Airflow now that you have it.

Hey Frank. What kind of GPS mount you are / were using with the 7710D? From what I've seen, some specific GPS mounts don't work with the 7710D.

Hello, I used 3M tape and short bolts to connect this mount to the bikes GPS spot. The GPS then sticks out further and out of the way of the screen. - Frank amzn.to/3r0bXMm

Yeah, I think I have the same Givi screen and I bought the Givi Shield plus for the top. I'm 6' and do have some wind on the top of my helmet, but this setup works great for me. My next farkle will be a headlight screen. I'm looking at the HEADLIGHT GUARD KTM 390 ADVENTURE 2020-2023 from SRC Moto, the Puig Headlight Protector, the Headlight Guard for KTM 390 Adventure from ADV TRIBE, (looks like yours), and the simple plastic KTM HEADLIGHT COVER from Rocky Mountain ATV/MC. Have you gone the shopping route with any of these? I'm guessing that some of these headlight protectors may NOT fit the 390 when they don't list the 390 in their fitment charts. Got my Rival pegs in. Geez that's a reeeeeeally small amount of metal for $200! They're bigger than stock though. I'll put them on next week. KTM Twins says my High Seat is in from some foreign land and might be in their hands w/in four days. After these add-ons, I'm going to take a break. The wife is hinting that it's HER turn for baubles and bangles. Stuart

PS: I have a very similar vinyl shed with lightweight doors that sometimes fly off. They survived the hurricane ... sorta. I mean, the shed flew to pieces, yeah. I got my insurance for it and then I found all the pieces around the neighborhood, (some by total accident) and put the thing back together. So, not a bad little shed, huh? Woah, that new screen looks awesome. Let us know how it works. Well, duh, that's like ... your job, right? ;) S

Hello Stuart, it's a great little shed! Cool that you were able to put yours back together. Last winter, during a windstorm a branch hit it and cracked it on one spot. I put waterproof RV tape on the spot, good as new. I should plastic weld it... but that RV tape lasts! The new screen review is on April 2nd! - Frank

Can I ask how tall you are. I'm 6'2" and on previous road touring bikes I've owned I found most tall screens aren't tall enough to stop the wind buffeting my l helmet so I have been apprehensive about going the same route with my 390

Hello Anthony, I am 5'10" with short legs, so I sit at the height of someone probably 6'. I do not think you would be OK with this screen. Adding 2-3" I think you would need the Givi Airflow. - Frank amzn.to/3YXZZyR

Hello Karen, it does need the minting kit. It should be linked in the description. If you buy a Givi Air flow, it included the same mount, so no need to order it separately. - Frank

Hello Skip, you need to buy the mounting kit, this will not mount up to the bike windscreen mount. Its a great mount though, and why this screen, even with an addon, does not vibrate. It's well mounted to the bike. - Frank
