Thank you, I was delighted to get it back. It doesn’t yet seem very Spring like, just the rare odd day but I am looking forward to the better weather. I do like the Spring and Autumn, when the colours change 🤠

Morning Alan, really good to see you out on the canal. I was waiting for you to declare "another successful exit" ! I thought that the sound was really very good, as it always is. The only piece that i thought was slightly below par, was your piece to camera when you explained the drone recovery. Otherwise, up to your impeccably high standard. Hi Steve. I know what you mean about the sound and am aware of it. We’ll have to blame the plane, as when I first heard it, it sounded a bit odd and then sounded ok. The swan put me off, I glimpsed it from the corner of my eye! It was great to get the drone back and in good working order. Many thanks for your appreciation, all the best🥂

Many thanks. Quite true, we've not got off to a good start, weather wise this year, have we.

It must have been a real joy to get out of the marina even for a little while. I first watched you on the TV and later on the laptop with headphones and I could hear you much better. I have some news, I'm taking delivery of a new mobility scooter on Wednesday to replace my ancient reserve one which had started to give me problems. I always feel better knowing I have a second M Scooter to use if the main has to be repaired. Anyway Alan it was lovely to see you out and about for the first time this year. Bye for now. Stephen

I thoroughly enjoyed it, second day was rather windy, as you'll see in the next episode. I do also listen through headphones to gauge what it might sound like, very different though from just ears. I'm glad it seemed good for you. Great news about the scooter, I hope it suits you well and does all you expect from it. No doubt, you'll let me know in time how you're getting on with it. That's good to know, the sound comes from different cameras and records differently depending on how the camera is facing, getting sound right is a nightmare.

Thank you Jenny. It’s interesting what you say about the sound, as apart from one short bit where I knew there was an issue and know why, I’ve had a lot of favourable comments. Sound can be very different though depending on how the viewer has set their own sound. I still have an occasional banana and did on this trip but not filmed it xx

Oh, I meant to say that you were lucky to have your drone returned. Did you manage to retrieve any video of the accident/crash landing?

Hi Brian, I really was. It made an emergency landing and whilst I could see it transmitting, it had already stopped recording. Footage recorded is shown on Heartbreak On Ilkley Moor 385.

Looks like you can walk into Yelvertoft from bridge 18?

I wouldn't say that Alan, there is a bridleway that goes into Yelvertoft but you need to go to Bridge 17 to connect with it, as the direct route to connect from Bridge 18 is fenced off.

You can win, beating some of the noise on your boat, by using a fanless laptop. It will be running on a different operating system, but you'll get used to that easily.

Sounds a great idea but IT and I don’t get on well, so best stay with what I know. Also, the power banks have fans that run occasionally. Cheers, thanks for the thought.

Alan, I'm going to be a bit of an outlier here and report that while the audio is strong and your words are intelligible, some of it -- esp in the first half -- has a slight metallic ring to it, almost as if there is a very slight delay as if doubling of the track. Sorry if this is not audiophile terminology.

Hi David. I know exactly what you mean and what has happened. There is a short piece of commentary where two identical audio tracks are laid over each other, with different adjustments. One has moved a couple of frames to give a sort of echo. It wasn’t worth the extra time involved to correct it and I doubt whether many viewers would pick up on it. So I left it. Well noted.

There was a time when you could unofficially cut straight across the field to the bridleway but it's sealed off now. Very muddy in the winter.
