Who can explain Mallsoft vibes? It has something to do with nostalgic feelings of the mall as a kid. For me, in the late 80s and early 90s. Going shopping with your mother and being bored and sitting on the floor of some women's clothing store. Opening your Transformers toy and playing with it to occupy your time. Maybe years later the same mall, going to Babbage's with your friend and looking at some games. Doom II for PC. It feels like these times existed in a holy space and now the modern age has corrupted it. These vaporwave sounds are the only way to remind yourself that this wasn't some half remembered dream but an actual point in time that existed, even if we can now only experience a poor facsimile.

I know that feeling. Going from being bored at some women's clothing store to experiencing absolute bliss after buying a new toy. Those 2 hours seemed to last a whole lifetime. I remember returning from those long summer holidays and feeling back home as soon as I saw the mall. Now, reaching 30, the mall is still a safe place for me. Sometimes I just go there and wander around with no purpose. In many ways, I'm still that same scared child being guided by his mom's hand.

I was still young in the late 2000s. We lived in a big city that often got cold during the winter, so without a park to take me to, my parents would hop in our old 4Runner and take me to the mall and I remember walking around sears and other now defunct stores. It was a time when people weren’t buried in their phones, and in many ways, everything still had a classic feel to it. I want it back, and I want to experience it properly, entirely on my own without my parents, but it’ll never happen and all I have are the sweet sweet memories.

I`ll copy/paste my review on BC: Maaaan! I can eeeeasily say this MALLSOFT release can be next to the legendary albums like "Palm Mall" or "슈퍼마켓Yes! We’re Open". However this one is the tru real deal in all senses, 'cause it doesn't even need the people walking/talkin in the background to show its identity, since the tunes are so powerfully bonded with the soul of the mid 80's/early 90's shopping malls, and that is simply superb, narcotic and immersive. Simply over 9k. Go and get a copy. Support 385North. (:

Sorry, but I just have to say....those escalators look especially menacing. If they had a voice, they would say "Come in and stay a while, peruse at your leisure", then after a few minutes you come to the realization you are being pulled under with no chance of escape. Forever stuck in M A L L S O F T madness.

I really love Mallsoft and Vaporwave (especially originals like Vaperror's) and I understand sampling but this is 100% a vaporwave'd rendition of the and it's kinda appalling to see people profiting from this creditless sampling I mean, the ENTIRE album here is based off that actual album. All the person did here was just to add some slow effects to the music, deepen the bass slightly and add reverb for that mallfeel. God I feel bad for those jazz artists
