My heart goes out to you and your family as you take this journey with Dusty. I had one of those dogs that you recognize is an extra special being. His last few days were a spiritual experience, particularly the last day. The very last moments, he sat up and looked into the distance as if he were seeing something or I like to think his best friend, lady dog who died maybe 6 or 9 months before. I wouldn’t trade it for anything, as sad as it was. I hope that your experience will leave you with something of Dusty to treasure. Sending love and prayers for your whole family. These wonderful pets enrich our lives forever.

Karen, I’m so sorry you’re going through this with your sweet Dusty! The exact same thing happened to me and the love of my life…my Gracie girl, last March! Except the difference was, I had no idea she was even sick but she started throwing up and within 12 hours, the drs said I had to let her go! I feel like I was robbed of getting to even say a proper goodbye, so as hard as this is for you, I’m so glad you’re getting quality time with your sweet boy! Hi Karen. Sending much love to you and yours. I wanted to share a story about you and Dusty that touched me. I’ve watched your videos for a long time now and I always love it when occasionally Dusty would woof in the background and instead of telling him to shush, you always said “go get em Dusty”. I’ve never had a dog and I was always a little jealous of the relationship you have. Last year we were able to adopt a 5yr old rescue labradoodle called Jade and my world was complete. EVERY time she barks at something outside I shout “ go get em Jade” and think how happy I am to have what you share with Dusty. Thank you and thank Dusty. Jade sends wags and wet kisses to you all. Pets are family so I know how difficult it is for you and your family. Dusty is so fortunate to have such a loving family. The painting was absolutely beautiful 😍. I’m glad you added to the middle because that really made it complete.

Ironically, while you were talking about Dusty, I was making “ornaments” for several friends who have recently lost their pets. It is a devastating loss to face and the next days will be difficult, but take time to do some of the things that he has always enjoyed. Hugs to you and your family. While crafting, I wasn’t watching your colors, so I’m going to be rewatching the beginning of this, because I looked up during your blow-out and fell in love! Nice job!

This turned out beautifully Karen and I feel your pain and sadness about you handsome fur baby I grew up with a German shepherd dog who was just like a sibling to me we were both babies growing up together he lived to be sixteen years old he had to be put down and our family was devastated so prayers go out to dusty and your family 🙏

Oooey, I found myself holding my breath a lot in that one! I hardly feel I have a right to say anything to the Queen of deconstructed blooms yet (!) I love the addition of the last bloom but not the 2nd to last so much. It got a bit busy. As always though the end result is astonishingly beautiful.....I kinda liked the 'swoop' you painted over too. Listen to me getting all opinionated!
