#sheleeartbloom #fluidart #deconstructedbloom
Hi! I'm back from a wonderful trip to LA--I'll tell you more about that when I can. This Sheleeart deconstructed bloom made me work for it! Hence the longer video. I mixed two colors for my cell activator that worked really well (blue/black combo and gold). It turned out amazing so I'm glad I stuck with it and brushed off the cobwebs of not painting for a week. Let me know what you think! If you're interested in this fluid art piece; shoot me an email to snag it before it goes up on my website! xoxo --Karen
Colors/Brands/Bloom Recipe:
House Paint-base aka puddle for the canvas:
Glidden Essentials Eggshell White House paint (Home Depot) 4 cup batch mixed with 1/4 cup Golden GAC800 to prevent crazing
Pouring Medium aka PM-mix with all colors EXCEPT the cell activator:
Sherwin Williams HGTV Ultra Deep Base UNtinted house paint (you can substitute with Behr Interior/Exterior High Gloss Enamel DEEP Base #8300 (Home Depot)); Minwax Polyacrylic Gloss varnish ; 2:1 ratio paint to varnish. Mix well.
Brands/Colors mixed: This Little Pigment colors: Caramel Drizzle
Matisse High Flow Acrylics: Southern Ocean Blue
Golden High Flow Acrylics: Indian Yellow Hue
Pebeo Studio Acrylics in Iridescent Blue-Green
All pigments are 1/8th tsp. pre-disbursed with a small amount of JoSonja Varnish to wet it, then added into 3 oz. cup of Pouring Medium; stir well.
For the tube paint (Pebeo), add 1 oz. to nearly 3 oz. PM; mix well, and add a little varnish to get the same consistency as the other colors mixed with high flow paint.
Cell Activator (last color on your puddle before you swipe or blow it out-no PM):
Australian Floetrol + Amsterdam Prussian Blue mixed with a dollop of Black Oxide; plus a second cell activator in Amsterdam Deep Gold. 4:1 ratio Floetrol to paint

When you truly want to learn, the length of a well-done video is unimportant, and yours are always well- done. Your art is top notch too. ♥️

I agree totally. Length doesn't matter when we are learning.
Karen that’s what I love about you you don’t bite your tongue!!! And I am very happy for the long videos , shoot I am so into its too short to me !!!!! Love your work , you are a fantastic artist !!! Thanks for all the giggles too. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🤍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I watched this video 5 times and I’m sure this won’t be the last. This is my favorite piece so far. I always say that in every video I watch of you. You are an amazing artist Karen.

Thank you!! 💕
I love that you did this! I've been missing your presentations. You are my favorite! Love it!! WOW! I was not expecting the direction you went with this creation! A "breathtaking" result! I really admire your experience & vision! Thank you!!!
I learnt so much in terms of tilting from this video. Your control on the tilting to get what you want and remove what you don’t is incredible. Also, you talking to the paint is so fun
Karen you are real. We do need to see the fails and what options we have to make something work. Thank you so much 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I love that you showed us your fail ( which I loved ) The second is beautiful and you worked really hard for it. Almost best of all are your ramblings ........ questioning your own actions, and verbalising the protests of the blooms as you tilt them off. I could watch you for hours, and do actually. Ta Dah !!!
Honey your fails would thrill me. I do appreciate your comentary to discuss why you think it is a fail. Love the colors
There is no such thing as a long video while watching another masterpiece develop. I could watch this all day, and thank you for another great demonstration; I learn so much about the characteristics of this technique from you.
Rivers of golds. So pretty. ❤️
I liked the white space near the middle as it gives the eye a place to rest when there is so much going on to look at.
Symphony.."... my one word description! Bella!
Yay!
Outstanding! The length is not so much important, it’s the content & your videos are always informative & excellent. I really enjoy watching & learning. Thank you Karen plus, that is gorgeous! Love the colors
Absolutely stunning! Thank you for sharing
Absolutely gorgeous Karen ❣️❣️❣️🤩
This is fabulous. I never have a problem with your longer videos. They are jam packed with information and as a visual learner, watching you is so beneficial. Thanks as always Karen. D.

This one is Gorgeous ! Thank you for this video. Lengh is not at all a problem when you learn. You are a FABULOUS teacher. Gratitude and Love from Strasbourg ( France)🙏🥰
Love it! You’re so talented and a great teacher! I love the “long” videos! Would like more!💜 thank you for all you do for us that are learning ☺️
I love watching you because you think out loud. That’s so very helpful to hear. Not just watching you create. I answer every question you ask and always give my opinion. So 2 people alone talking and thinking out loud! What a hoot! Your painting is beautiful, as usual Karen! Thanks for sharing!!! ✌️💜😊
Gorgeous!! ❤❤❤
Gorgeous results! And I agree length doesn’t matter when the painting is so beautiful. Sometimes you have to take your time and, like you said, earn it!
Absolutely gorgeous and LOVED hearing your thought process throughout!! It is good to get the insights even if it means you make a long video. WE CAN always watch it in parts. Please don't stop letting us in on the genius!!
This is a wonderful video. Also it was nice to see you and Erica do a collaboration. Y’all are the first two artists that I aspired to imitate. So many of my pieces were inspired by you and Erica ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Wonderful piece! Thanks for walking us through your process.
Great. Great Great! Love it!
Love the colours & composition - stunning! 😁
I love the colours. When you stopped the first time from this angle before you tilted the second end off it looked like an Indian with a headdress on. Although I did know you had to continue to tilt. Always love your videos no matter how long they are. I could watch you for hours. And just wish I could master the tilt like you. Thanks for sharing Karen. You are a brave woman. I love that blue rose once u pointed it out. But your eye is so amazing with your composition
