365 Days of 4Runner Ownership and Mods - The First Year!!!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

365 days of 4Runner ownership and mods in one video.
Today is the 365th day or owning our 2018 Toyota TRD 4Runner since we purchased from Ron Tonkin Toyota in Portland, Oregon. Just wanted to do a video today that was a timeline of sorts of mods and the trips we've taken with it so far.
We still have plenty to do and trips to take but so far the first year has been great. If you have any suggestions, ideas, or comments please leave them below.

Beautiful build and very similar to what I would like to do, as mine will also be a daily driver. I have a 2003 4Runner and absolutely love it... Can't wait to get behind the wheel of the current models! I love the functionality of your vehicle and the extra organization.

Nice rig! I'm just getting to a year myself on an SR5 4x4. I did a lot of the same mods, including the Baja Designs fog lights. Thanks for the info on the High Beam LEDs! I just sold my Morimotos because they weren't DRL friendly. I'll have to try the XD ones. I have their low beam LEDs. My favorite mods you didn't mention: You might want to check out the Victory 4x4 Blitz sliders. They are amazing side protection, they look great and they have integrated side lights. I also got my Molle panels from them. The other one is a Road Shower which makes camping feel almost like home - a hot shower and pressurized water for cleaning! One thing worth mentioning is that having upgraded shocks - even the relatively cheap Bilstein 5100s - totally cures the nose dive that all OEM 4Runners seem to have. I need an awning too, but I think I can just rig up a big tarp with lightweight tent poles to the tie-downs on my roof rack, rather than mounting an expensive awning to the roof. On a similar note, I don't really get the RTT fad. I get it if you're on safari in Africa, but otherwise It seems like a ton of weight to carry for something that could be so portable.

nice setup, well thought out, nice vid with some cool scenery in there. Only one thing, the passenger side back window rack.. would not block that what a huge blind spot. Worse tham the Toyota FJ blind spot. But easy fix to remove if you find that out when you put stuff on it, or only utilize the very bottom of it. Anyhow, great rig you got there I'll be using that usb and left window rack info ! Thx and happy trails.

Nice 4runner we have similar mods. I had a tepui awning. Took a 5 day camping trip to Utah. Did not use it once. Found the EZup canopy was better for shade or getting some protection from the rain because you can move it around without moving the vehicle. Used the awning once while at the beach for a day. Took back the 300 dollar awning to REI and decided to go with the 40 dollar canopy instead. The awning did look cool, but for the cost, I found the EZup canopy was just as good and more useful. Hope that helps. I follow you on IG as willsyotarunner. It's cool to see you on KZread

    Go Rigd for tire carrier!

I think I've came to the conclusion I don't want a carrier. I'm probably going to 285's soon and I'm told one will still fit under. I've also been told to get a narrower tire that is the same height for a spare. We'll see and I'll of course update.

Twisted Jake do you have a link by chance

@@Lost1st I don't have a link. I just pulled the center console up, found the power wire, cut it, and ran a separate constant 12v wire to it. Tapped under the dash somewhere with fuse tap.
