$60K for cloth seats, and $80K for some buttons, under armor, and changing lights. What upside world are we living in that a Toyota costs that much!?

I like the 4Runner. Bombproof, ultra reliable and simple. 500K mile vehicle with proper maintenance. No turbo and no massive hybrid battery to replace in 10 years.

Once you get up to the $77 thousand plus range I think I would just go with the Lexus GX 550 Over Trail.

Well duh you bought a land cruiser you’re a youtube channel. 4runner still the better choice unless you need views on videos.

I had a dream i sold my 4Runner. Woke up in a panic and went straight to my garage and made sure it was still there. My 4Runner is my 4Ever truck

Just bought a 2013 GX... I originally had the Land Cruiser on order, but interest rates and overall lack of desire for a car payment led me to a cash car. The Land Cruiser is sick though. I will own one in the future most likely.

I asked my wife if she wanted to get rid of her 4Runner and get a GX or Land cruiser. "Absolutely not" was her reply.

4R has legendary longevity. Can’t say the same about these new Toyota turbo charged vehicles. Only time will tell

I don’t like that the LandCruiser requires premium fuel.

I just love the sound of that old 1GR. Makes me want to jump in my FJ and go flat out everywhere while going faster than the speed of smell.

I am not a fan of what they've done with the hybrid battery here. It is in the cargo area, which is not good if you have wet items in the rear or something leaks back there. It requires you keep several vents clean and unblocked in a cargo area in order to have airflow to keep the battery cool. And I have heard that the deck lid at the very rear, designed due to the battery location, can only support 150 lbs; again in the cargo area where that little area could see some weight, though it might be in only odd circumstances.

I would still pick the 4Runner...although I love the new LC. I just think in 10 years, everyone will look back at the 5th Gen as the epitome of Toyota engineering & reliability. No complicated electronic systems, just buttons where buttons should be with an engine & transmission, simple, straightforward & reliable at a reasonable value. (though I'd be coming from my FJC, so the 5th Gen IS a relative luxury upgrade for me) Having said all of that...the new LC is sweet.

got the chance to buy my dream truck almost 2 years ago, a TRD OFF ROAD 4Runner. I found your videos while researching it and thanks to you it made me want it even way more! Seeing one in the channel always makes my heart warm lol. havent stopped watching since. in future videos would like to see how the sway bar disconnect behaves in already stressful situations.
