The shockwave actually results from the flash, which results from the high temperatures produced around the bomb, which is a result of the blackbody x-ray spectrum emitted and reradiated from the fission and or fusion fuel, which radiate from the kinetic energy of the fuel itself, which is caused by the fission, and sometimes fusion (for thermonuclear weapons) products during the fission chain reaction with or without a fusion fuel burn wave.

I know you prolly had to cut down the realism a bit for theatrics, but the initial explosion would blind you as it’s brighter than the sun, and you’d see the shockwave coming right for you. But cool video, great job.

I just had to mention this. At the distance you are to the explosion, you would most likely be killed by radiation poisoning and hit badly by the shockwave. Just a little bit of info for you there!

Need a slower progression of the shock wave. 300m/s. You’d clearly see it coming as if in slow motion.

I think about this so much. In dreams I survive the "wave" but still fear it. When I see the mushroom cloud in these videos I'm always blown away by it's magnitude, and feel relieved its "over there" ... but then the wave of burning enery hits and you realise that everything around you would be destroyed and on fire in that very moment, and you'd better off be dead rather than burning and experiencing what you're seeing during the simulation. It's a humbling feeling. We are fragile.

im trying to calibrate my heaphones. this was nice. do u have others?

The first thing (but idk the distance and the power of the explosion) would probably be intense heat, or things turning into fire. and you'd be ofc blind for quite a long moment. You'd probably fall and lay on the ground of the top of that building preventing from you burning more, but you'd already have got severe 2-3rd burns... now again, this is assuming (at is seems to me) that the explosion is too far away for instant vaporization... but still close enough to burn things... What next... well probably nothing for a few minutes again due to the distance... ? I guess we would have to wait for the shockwave and the sound... and that's pretty much it. Nuclear explosions, when they explode, are not as bad as people think... it's the aftermath, hours & days after that are absolutely terrible... If the explosion would have been on the city after the water separation, yes, HERE, you'd get instantly vaporized, actually, even 5 km further away. This looks to me like a H bomb, at least of the size of Ivy Mike, if not insanely more...
