Thank you. I’ve never dreamt about having a mill too much because I thought I could never have it. Then one day, I just realized I can afford one made in China :-) One local store had this mill in their showroom for 17 years, they put it for sale, and I grabbed it.

This looks like solutions I would come up with! Tip : a hole in the concrete to anchor a block and tackle or chain hoist can easily move five tons that way (ask me how I know !) And what is it with wives? No matter what they do.... or how many great machines you can get.... 'shoes' always seem to sneak into the conversation ! Other tip : mount leveling feet with 20 cm studding when getting a machine off of a pallet corner by corner. Works a treat! (ask me how I know that!) And if all else fails.... Tupperware boxes filled with ice.... sounds iffy, but I did it on an Arno vertical mill (lbs 2500). It takes about an hour, but the machine lands very softly if you have your plan figured out right! Toodles! Paddy

Very interesting. I actually built a pallet for my machine to sit on. This helps dampen any vibration, raises it up a bit higher off the floor as I’m two meters tall and helps even out imperfections in the floor. The main reason though is to allow me to move my heavy machines around my workshop with ease and safety, on my own using my pallet jack. I only need a couple of mm clearance so even if it wants to fall it can’t. I think I have the same mill as yours as mine looks identical except mine has two drain holes in the base. Mine was made by Herless in China, was yours? Yours has had a lot of time spent on it painting it though. It looks awesome. Cheers Stuart 🇦🇺

Honestly, I don’t even know the name of the manufacturer of this mill. It says that lead screws were made in Taiwan. No other names, just model number X6325. Maybe when I grow up, I’ll have my own pallet jack, then, I’ll have my machines on pallets, lake yours, lol. Cheers.

@@TinkeringNerd Mine’s an X6323S so probably the same manufacturer. Here in Australia you can buy a new pallet jack for just under $300 and I think they are money well spent. I paid $10 for mine at the junk shop and I knew it didn’t work but took a chance. It cost me another $10.70 for two new seals and while I was waiting for them to arrive I went over all the wheels, bearings and pivot points. I now have $20.70 in it and it should see me out😂😂😂. Cheers Stuart.

Я наверное ни когда не пойму - почему именно так делают палеты в США. Почему именно такой формы? Я думал Вы станок установите на вибро опоры на штатные места ..... МММММ

  • @TinkeringNerd

@@TinkeringNerd Seriously, my mover invented ( according to him anyway ) a modified crowbar. He welded a shaft with two bearing to it. To move huge mills, he places two skates on the backside ( L plates with steel bearings as wheels ) then uses the modified crowbar to lift one side and just freaking drag these monsters easily.
