Road Rash look soooo freaking fun! RIP man. Other games that interested me here: - Reigh - Eight Days - Pirates of the Carribean (Could've been better than the AC pirate games tbh) - James Bond 007: Risico - Wet 2 (RIP, I quite liked the first one) - The Outsider - Legacy of Kain - This is vegas Quiteee a few from EA here though, goddamn. Also, that last Rabbids one sounds terrifying...

I know there was a couple of Crash Bandicoot games originally intended for the PS3. One was a sequel to Crash Team Racing, the other is an open world platformer titled Crash Landed. Plus Epic Mickey was going to be on the PS3 as well.

There was also a Crash Landed for the DS, being developed by Renegade Kid. Different game, but also looked interesting.

Excellent video. I’ve watched a few channels recently (who shall naturally go unnamed) and all I can say is it’s refreshing to have such a well narrated and well researched video so thank you 👍. I can imagine a lot of effort must go into each one of these - sourcing material etc so hats off to ya. The Brooklyn game is certainly not my normal go to genre by any stretch but that game looked excellent. An intriguing and original concept for sure.

Ah, thank you, that's very kind. Yes, a huge amount of research and editing goes into these, but love doing them as I always learn a lot. Brooklyn Stories is an intriguing concept indeed, shame that one never happened.

Fantastic video and research into these games. Love the use of the Soulcalibur series and Burnout 2 soundtracks. Some of them looked really good. If they were fully completed and put on shelves, I would have bought them.

It was a mercy killing. The main character was named Jim Sterling. Better dead than overfed.

I know that I'm weird, but that footage of that unfinished build of _Road Rash_ makes me wonder what a _Road Rash_ game either using the Sega Virtua Processor or running on the 32X could've been like… (That, and I wouldn't mind playing _Dancing Eyes_ … ._. )

I'm pretty sure the physics part of Reich was released as Cellfactor demo for Ageia PhysX cards and it was built on Reality Engine before it was bought by Epic.

I've always wanted to see the old builds of The Last Guardian leaked. I feel like they had something running on the PS3 for a while there (like, 2 years or more, even) but because of technical issues they had to keep scrapping what they had done.

There are so many more cancelled PS3 games. Some of the multi-platform games were on my XBOX 360 video, and some on the PC one (which I still haven't made yet).

Ocean Warrior/Kevin Costner's Pro Skater (lol) has such a good idea for a setting. I know Waterworld, the movie, flopped but that idea is still great (hell, there's a reason the _stunt show_ at Universal theme parks has lasted for decades). It would be incredible to see someone like Avalanche's Mad Max team tackle an open world, apocalyptic, flooded Earth-kind of setting for a game sometime. So many open world games have cars, but how many have watercraft? Not a lot, I wager, and their inclusion isn't exactly substantial when they _are_ included. That idea should definitely be revisited. Maybe this next gen, game engines will get good enough that indie devs can tackle open world titles, and someone will finally bring that sort of idea to life.

Got an idea you could do cancelled pc games from the 2000s, 2010s or other decades just an idea I think could work

I loved those games, but they've aged terribly. A PS3 iteration would've been interesting to see.

I've always seen acquisitions, mergers, and closures, as a very shady part of the videogaming industry. If certain organizations don't want your game released there seems to be an easy kill switch. Some interesting games listed here, and well narrated. Brooklyn Stories, Playing Borders and Warfare Afghanistan are certainly intriguing cancelations in their own ways. I wonder if any of these games will be released at a later date, just like 40 Winks was released on the N64 recently. And when will gamers get some brand new titles released for the PS3 ?

You never know. Often these long-dead projects get a new lease of life down the line.

I've got to be honest, a lot of these feel a bit generic with maybe a few good ideas as variations on a theme, such as the impregnation element and choices in Alien Crucible, although that's more an innovation afforded by the source material than anything else. It shouldn't be surprising though, there are clearly going to be less genuinely innovative ideas to be had with every new generation, titles like Portal or Gravity Rush spring to mind as examples. Having said that, I do like the look of Brooklyn Stories, mainly because it feels like nothing I've seen before, at least outside of Hitchcock's Rear Window which is conveniently one of my favourite films. I wouldn't be surprised if the film was in their thinking when the game was conceived. Wildlife feels like a game created from an idea of the food chain as it's core concept, which would've been something different but maybe a bit unwieldy to implement.

the 7th generation of gaming was awful for a lot of developers and publishers not much money or return on investment ,alot of companies close shutdown and bankrupt and the Japanese customers not buying as much games as they used to and the ps3 was a nightmare to develop for. so frustrating to see creative titles get canceled to make the same game over and over like what ubisoft does but now we are lucky that we have independent developers developing creative games on ps4 switch and xbox . the 7th gen was just make gritty games and dont add any color to your game or you're going to be mistaken for a kids game that's the logic back than .8th gen with the thriving and lucrative independent games has been ,you can ignore the creatively corrupted AAA games and play something unique or just fun. the gaming industry it's at it best and worst

Totally agree. Sad that so many unique concepts (several of which are in this video) were pushed aside in favour of the next iteration of something familiar. Oh yay, it's Generic Game 17! Thankfully the current gen systems seem to have seen a resurgence of indie games with a lot of originality and freshness.

There are soooo many more, like a ridiculous amount! As I said, some will pop up in the upcoming 360 and PC episodes, but there are loads that won't get a mention.

I have a bit of a dilemma. I have the choice to buy any switch game, and I have narrowed it to Super Mario Odyssey or Captain Toad. But I don't know which. And I can only buy one. I have until this Tuesday to decide. Help? Also, maybe cancelled atari or switch games?

Hmm, another tough one. Not sure I can commit to an absolute favourite. Probably Fallout: New Vegas, closely followed by Skyrim and Fallout 3. I'm also a big fan of Blur and Hotline Miami.

Man All this game Their could be good. With the Exception of Doom 4 1.0, Weird cause also Croteam the dev behind Serious Sam also were working on this doom game Fun fact Their use re-use Doom Enemies in Serious Sam 3 BFE.

as awesome as the Reich game looked, Im pretty sure the majority of that footage of Pre-rendered proof of concept and a game THAT ambitious would have ran like dog turds on the PS3, honestly im not even sure the PS4 could make all that incredible chaos run well while not looking last gen.

@@onaretrotip with how much of a pain in the ass that Cell processor of the PS3's was to program for, I can garentee they'd never get a game to run that good, you'd need to go the Earth Defense Force route and severely sacrifice graphics to free up a massive amount of space to process that much stuff in game.

Most of those games would be great on PC
