That 17 boat turned on the speed at the very last moment of the regatta and impressed when every one had them dead and buried. Never underestimate a determined team.

Fabulous racing! I'm still a bit curious as to why NZL didn't use their remaining Card for a restart. Sorry if this is a silly question.

Just saw this but NZL could only use their card before the race started. Once the race started there was no possiblity of playing the card.

Anyone have analysis of what allowed Oracle to suddenly find all that speed? Was it a technological advantage or simply learning to sail the boat?

they decided to stop caring about the limits engeneers gave them, they used full boat capacity + some upgrades that made them a bit lighter.

it was clear that US after 8-1 for NZ made some change in the boat..maybe something not legal. It's the only reason for an impossible recovery. It was not an exploit but only a speed matter

Upwind Stability. Both were equally rocky until TNZ had matchpoint. The next day OTU are level as a pane of glass even in high seas. Very clearly they automated their foils and or rudders. Something AIRBUS would know all about. But still, that's the America's Cup. Possibly the LEAST sporting sports event in the world. In the America's Cup if you cheat and get away with it, it wasn't cheating. Im pretty sure all team understand that. What I know is BS is the WSJ story that Spithill decided last minute to sail low and fast instead of high and slow. That's an insult to sailors.
