During the course of this year I aim to upload a song every day for your consideration as to whether they were good enough and sufficiently commercial to have become UK Top 20 singles. Many different genres will be represented, so if this particular one’s not your preferred style then hopefully it won’t be too long before you find one that is.

Also, if leaving a critical comment please try to take into account the year of original release - most of the songs that I'll be uploading are decades old so it wouldn’t be surprising if some sound dated now.
Today’s choice is a unique version of Tears In Rain by Vangelis. There are various versions of this, with the original being the version on the 1982 Blade Runner movie itself, but that that had additional special effects in the background. Then in 1994 the first official soundtrack album with Vangelis’s original music was finally released, and whilst this included the emotional narrative by Rutger Hauer, that was incomplete with the three most important words edited out. For completists there was an unofficial release of fully instrumental version without narrative or special effects “XSFX”, but frustratingly the complete version has never been released. So, to do this iconic piece of music justice, I’ve edited the missing dialogue back into the 1994 version, so that you can enjoy it in all its intended glory. It’s a sensational collaboration of music and movie, and whilst some may argue that it’s not radio friendly, I think there would still have been a market for this had it been released as a single back in 1982.
