My favourite Nigel by far. ❤Love your channel. Something tells me you’re good at anything practical you turn your hands to. Britain has talent and your part of it. I’d like to class you as a northerner if that’s ok? 😂 only joking everyone . How generous are some of these people sharing their wealth of knowledge.

Well, Nigel, I have to say those Agralan root trainers have proven to be brilliant. Once the brassicas were sown I put the whole kit into a propagator, and as soon as the little heads popped up, I turned off the heat. A few days later moved them on into the wallet type deep root trainers. They look really healthy and are growing well in cooler conditions now. I found out by years of trial and error brassicas do not like being over cosseted. They like the cool, even colder conditions, but not frosty. I'm also using the Agralan to grow Tom's. Ace55, a Bush type with large Tom's, and good old Moneymaker. Fingers crossed. However I had a disaster with my New Clapton Caulies from Premier seeds. I got 4 sown and dropped the rest onto a deep pile rug. Doh! Never mind, we move on. I love your advice and uploads. Keep up the great work.

Hi Nigel, always very informative videos. I'm going to try the method of planting my brassicas in deep cell trays, too. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊

Great video Nigel. I love tomato planting time. The only one of those varieties we have down here is crimson crush. I had a good season with my toms and got a second crop now just maturing before the weather gets too cold here. Good luck with your seeds. Cheers

Hi Nigel - Great video. I used the rocket gro last year - got it from the pavillions on the bridgnorth road. It was the worst year for germination ever. It didn't hold water at all. I'd suggest sowing a trial with something else too, just to make sure. All the best!

i don't normally grow new varieties of tomatos, but this year, as well as my usual varieties, i'm trying roma, a determinate for growing in pots around the bungalow, and a variety for the hanging baskets ( the name of which escapes me ). many gardeners grow these varieties, but they're a first for me, with a plan in mind....................brian

I have had an allotment for 29 years. I find Nigel’s channel informative, and an inspiration. It’s warts and all, but every video challenges what I do on my vegetable garden. It introduces me yo new ideas, products and ways to grow. I have used rootilizer this year and will be interested to see how it works.

Hi John, I remember a few months back another subscriber mentioning Nagina and Crimson Plum where the same tomato sold under different names. I hab=ve had this confirmed, The Nagina seem cheaper to buy 😀👍

Hi Steve, first impressions of the Multipurpose with JI were good. Decent texture and moisture content but more importantly, no visible stray debris included to bulk it out. 👍

I liked Crimson Plum last year Nigel, but the photo you put up wasn't for that variety. I like Premier seeds, but I hope they aren't going to paper packets for everything : all the best - Steve

Hi Steve...well spotted!...and your observations paid dividends. I know I had downloaded the plum photo and after further investigation found...Crimson Plum is also sold as Nagina 😀 (Nagina is usual cheaper to buy than Crimson Plum 😉). I think the cardboard packets from Premier was a special for the Gardenders collection kit.........Cheers. Nigel

Hi Nigel, do you find that your chitting potatoes suffer from the condensation generated in the greenhouse overnight? Mine are chitting in my polytunnel and are quite wet in the mornings, although they do dry out in the day and are still quite firm. Haydn

Hi Haydn, the greenhouses doesn't gather som much condensation as a polytunnel. What I would suggest is to cover the potatoes overnight with fleece, in fact they will chit fine with the fleece left over them if you are unable to get to them each morning 👍
