Try using any kind of herbs or citrus as a basting brush. My favorite is a rosemary sprig. You can also use garlic cloves, thyme, lemon, or leeks. It also depends on what you've got on hand or what extra flavor you want to impart. If you bury your kitchen scraps or have compost/fertilizer, make sure you rinse off the marinade before you discard because of the salt content.

I would have thought Aden would know how to say "Kore wa nandesuka" by now instead of "What is this?"
A Zen master was invited to a very expensive Wagyu. Instead of devoutly appreciating the precious food - like all the other guests - and tasting it properly, he devoured it with two or three bites. Thereupon he was not invited for a long time. When he was asked to return to the table, he was served only a bowl of rice. He ate it with such emotion and solemnity, as if he had both Kobe and Omi on his plate. When they asked him that this was just a simple bowl of rice, but that the meat was a real treasure last time, he just said: 'I was hungry then, but I'm full now. The things of the world can only be appreciated when they are not needed. Beauty never comes from lack and desire, but only from abundance. The steak was a pure necessity, but this rice is totally liberated. Therein lies his beauty.'

I would eat the cooking lady too
I’m watching this whilst eating potato salad and drinking a coors light. I don’t even like coors light but my lovely aunt at Christmas excitedly was like ‘this is your favorite, right!?!?’
Cooking so delicate. That food looks so good
It's more about the experience. I'm sure this is grass fed cows who are treated to massages, beer, fresh air and sunshine. Ummm...

omg, so you know why you can buy eggs in vending machines in Japan and eat them raw? They actually enforce health standards on farms and inspect them regularly, same goes for the products they produce... *A5 Matsusaka* is as good as beef gets (tho Kobe and Omi A5 are just as good, just different) and yeah no, those cows are confined (in outdoor pens) and treated like pâté geese.
