If you ever get a chance to get to Canada to fish, you should take it. We are on Eagle Lake in Ontario, and we’ve been coming here for over 25 years. Eagle Lake is a massive body of water that covers over 68,000 acres, and is 70 miles from end to end. This versatile fishery has walleye, muskie, smallmouth bass, trout, & northern pike. All you need to do is walk down to the dock in the morning after breakfast, and there are nearly endless possibilities. Eagle Lake also gives anglers the very realistic possibility to catch their personal best in any of those species.
Now I am the most excited to be back, and introduce Blake to her very first Canadian fishing adventure. For our visit, we decide to target walleye & muskie, and Eagle has giants of both species. Our guide Danny Herbeck has already guided his customers to over 6,000 walleyes this year. Danny sets us up in an area where he’s been catching fish, but uses our Humminbird HELIX to zero in on where the fish are schooling. He says “There is no reason to start fishing until you check the locator to see if there are fish there.”
After the walleyes successfully wear us out, we head out to finish our first day muskie fishing. On day two we troll for muskie, which was thrilling to see Blake catch her first.
