Your lass is braver then me!!!! No effin way could I stay in most of these rooms!!! it's the UV light that does it for me!!! Soon as the lights go out, its like Blackpool illuminations (in most rooms) It's a Nope from me 😂😂😂

You would never expect a deep clean every day, but it is clear this room hasn't had one in years!

I once stayed at the Royal Hotel and I emptied a full vacuum bag in the middle of the room and the hotel manager thanked me for doing his job for him and gave me a discount.

Shame the rooms are not kept to the same standard as the grand staircase and hall .

Think u upset a few by comparing council estates! I understand what you mean but I wouldn’t get used to saying in your future vlogs 🤫 as a ex hotelier my housekeeping crew wasn’t given any timelimit per room it was left to them to decide if one needed extra work they also filled in a repair/job list each day! While cleaning Looking for Chipped paint broken sockets peeling paper stains loose fittings mattress condition curtains windows radiators etc etc this was done by a janitor/handyman who carried around tools paint wall paper paste etc etc it was the only way to keep on top of maintenance…the housekeeping also had a daily check list to follow including checking the shower heads taps switches inside kettles cups for cracks ,inside draws, tops of TVs remote batteries etc etc little things that we all notice ,and because it was done daily,it kept the rooms tiptop! In the quiet periods the house keeping stripped the whole room at least 6 times a year…things like changed curtains nets blinds clean interior windows and frames behind radiators removed bed protection mattress covers ,pillow protection was changed every time a guest checked out, definitely not waiting for them to get sweat stains yuk! the duvets pillows went to the dry cleaners even though they had duvet protection and duvet covers! I wouldn’t want to sell a room that I wouldn’t sleep in myself! My housekeepers average 6 rooms each per day 4 hour shifts and was the perfect amount of time to keep the rooms immaculate….id love to work for Britannia group and show them time isn’t the problem it’s the system that’s broken…. Hi Dan & Emma, This hotel room is disgusting. £328pds for two nights is extortionate. To dirty for me, the food looked awful. Disabled bathroom looked so old, and not very safe. Was filthy definite no from me.

We stayed in the Royal about 20 years ago and we stayed a couple of times. It was lovely and we had a great stay. It looks a lot different to then, what a shame.

I can't get past the dirt. The couch should be thrown out, the curtains changed and the shower/bathroom cleaned properly. I wouldn't go to any Brittania hotel.

That's is absolutely not acceptable, I can't get over the radiator, if it was cleaned properly from the first ,other cleans don't take as long, and yes I have cleaned hotel rooms, the housekeeper manager is accountable because they are supposed to check that standards are being met

From experience of Britannia Hotels they lure you into a false sense of hope. The entrances and all other areas are lovely…….until you get to the rooms. Great to see Emma in the video again. Much love to you both ❤

When you said Britannia it was game over I knew it would be disgusting!

We have stayed in the room directly under that one the room was stunning but filthy, I'm talking snot and blood on the curtains, some sort of sauce on the wardrobes, very dubious stains on the carpet. It did have a colour changing shower though 😂

You probably should say which rooms you have, so people can book them after you cleaned them! 😂 Seriously though - these hotels were built when immensely rich people could afford luxury, and wages were very low and workers lived in the place. I don't know what can be done with such vast hotels now - aside from making them into luxury flats and student housing. At least that would preserve the building.

I just stayed in a Haven caravan park, and the caravan was barely clean. A lot of people were complaining about the state of their caravans. You should do a Haven caravan review, as so many people go there and it would open people's eyes. You and Adam should rent one for the weekend.

The second you say britania hotel company, you already know its a shit hole.

Dan the dust level is bad needs attention plus the stains in the bathroom is unacceptable, the price is fair too high. You mentioned the floor slanting that could be the beginning of subsidence if it’s like in a the room what about the rest of the hotel very dangerous problem in foundations . A hotel inspector would recommend the hotel be closedown

You would have been better off camping on the beach with a Tarp mate lol....great vid!

I've seen furniture chucked out, and I've seen it on so called posh estates where all houses are owned. I've watched you for such a long time but that comment was not good. And I'm not one of those easily offended. We haven't all had the breaks in life to buy our own house. I'd like to invite you to visit my council estate and I can show you how well kept the majority of houses are.

Nearly 400 hundred for a room that runs down not worth it at all

Shocking for that price Dan. You can look past the cabinet breaking down on the top and sides but come on Hotel staff, a few clean cloths and some bathroom cleaner would not have taken long to get half of that dirt of the walls and toilet. I'm glad you complained, hope they refunded you some money. Next time Dan wipe the muck up for them and take the evidence downstairs. Nice to see you away with your lovely Emma. Great vid as always

I've stayed in this hotel last year, and yes, it was gross and horrible back then. My highlights included a bath that was brown and a hair dryer that was sticky and was covered in goodness knows what. The room was red hot, the window only opened a small bit so didn't let any air in and there were no fans available back then.

Changing rooms doesn't fix the problem I'd be out of there so fast sleeping in my car that is sick

Another smashing video and good to see both of you as well. Can't believe you got charged to cancel thats scandalous. I think this hotel is over priced, but I would stay there, but does need a lot of cleaning as it is shocking. I quite like Britannia hotels though and don't understand the amount of stick they get.

That matters 'protector' is far too thin to 'protect' from anything. Unless it's got a waterproof lining underneath, it simply isn't 'worth putting on a bed. Might as well put an extra sheet and call that a 'protector'!

I used to stop in this hotel every year when in my 20’s Shocked to see it now.

Try the Parkmore Hotel and spa in Eaglescliffe, better value by far.

It looks great from the front…inside it has the vibe of council estate chic..

Oh Dan i wouldn't like to have seen the first room if this one was better. 😮

I think there is a chronic problem in most places with cleanliness, i think most just do the very bare minimum if even that in most cases. I mean that raditor for instance how can a cleaner see that and leave it? Ive been a cleaner in a few places in the past including student accommodation i would have certainly vacummed all that out as best it could be. Most dont bother with these areas that are invisble to the eye they just think you cant see anything so not touching it no one will know. But they do. Even the top of the wardrobe most places use vacuums with long hoses like a henry for instance piece of cake to run the vacuum on top of it! Its complete neglect and laziness regardless of any time limits.

I would be tempted to sleep on one of the downstairs sofas, rather than in the beds .

Pricey that, I just spent 4 nights in benidorm for £330 all inclusive, I live 5min walk away from that hotel and never ever been inside

HI DAN AND EMMA BRITANIA hotel s need to go the rooms and cleaners need more time on cleaning the rooms never seem so much dust and its hard to get the hotel rooms cleaned for new arrivals and also IM a housekeeper my self and any rooms that I DONT finish I put down as basic clean and sometimes it is say hard to get hotel rooms done that why if hotel managers payed there housekeepers more money and to give then more hours the managers could get up off there backsides and go help the housekeepers but at the end of the day we all know what BRITANIA HOTELS ARE LIKE THEY DID GET YOU THE WRONG ROOMAND THEY KNOW WHAT ROOM YOU ASKED FOR BUT THIS BRITANIA HOTELS THANKS DAN AND EMMA KEEP THE VIDEOS COMING FROM KEITH😀

The phone in your room works have you thought of contacting the Samaritans? A normal person would have a great day out then go to kip in room, If you stayed in most bed and breakfast just have a good kip have a nice breakfast then do off! Can you review your own bedroom with a UV lamp, I bet u will find some residue, kind regards Mark.

Looks a nice place but dirty tho the food looked basic for the price you both paid but defo have to do the 20 mins challenge to see what the room would look like if you had 20 mins love to see that

You cant tell people how to spend their own hard earnt cash...if his Mrs wasnt going to enjoy the stay there and he had the means to change it...thats upto him.... We have cancelled rooms for being disgusting or the hotel being too posh and we wasnt comfortable being there before...we have also had times we couldnt afford to rebook elsewhere....and just had to make the best of a bad situation.... Each to their own...

£82pppn I booked into a 5* hotel in Blackpool for £71 a night £284 for 4 nights. Your hotel is over priced and at best a 3 star hotel. Its clear to me that you paid extra for the dust.

As soon as I hear Brittania hotels, Im like Run forrest!. they own Scarbrough Grand , Blackpool norbreck, and whats left of Pontins . after A initial investment they spend pennies on their upkeep when they all need millions

That’s a disgrace for the money you’ve paid .. we had 3 nights BnB in Whitby for £325 and it was spotless the breakfast was amazing ....

The truth with these disgusting rip off places is not to complain until you’re leaving, otherwise you’ll run the risk of your meals being doctored with ‘Winner’s Sauce’ etc., For the price you paid for this disgusting place, you should have confronted the management with your findings on check out and received a full refund. I hope you keep the physical evidence as well as the obvious video…these people need to be stopped from putting people’s health at risk whilst charging exorbitant prices for utterly gross services.
