    It’s crazy how the market has changed. Been running the mongrels with no issues other than a little sketchy on turns. Never had a blow out and have lent my spare numerous times to others who have blown tires. After this video looked at the ultra Ross but would have to switch to a 15” rim to get 32” s so not gonna happen. Probably gonna stick to my 32” mongrels 10ply for now. Great video and man I wanna have your job because I can’t ride near as much as you!

    The Kanati Mongrels have been upgraded from 8 ply to 10 ply! So the sidewalls should be one of the stronger sidewalls on the market. Tread pattern is the same, but the Tire carcass has been redesigned & are DOT approved & radial design. Top speed? A taller tire could give more top speed, but the speedo would be off. But yes, bigger tires are heavier and acceleration and braking performance isnt as good, but their clearance and bigger size makes holes and whoops smaller, always a trade off...

  • @ChupacabraOffroad

    @ChupacabraOffroad

    5 жыл бұрын

    Originally I was excited about the Liberties, but I haven't ridden in them, Maxxis is a really good brand and would consider buying if the price was right. As for Carnivores, the tread pattern seems better suited to different parts of the country, and Quadboss is more of a "budget" play, so honestly I wouldn't consider them, as my assumption is they are cheaply made and heavy. The Tusk Terrabite seems to be loved for the budget tire market, and it won V2R, it's just heavy.

    You will loose a little power and breaking performance, there's no way around it, but they will be much more durable over rough terrain, and smoother. I think you can try them with stock clutching and you might not have issues. Lucky for you the X3 belts and drivetrain are very reliable and a clutch kit can solve any potential problems. the ride quality of the bigger, better tires is worth it.

  • @ChupacabraOffroad

    @ChupacabraOffroad

    Good question, above my pay grade, but I feel like we went through a "truck tire" phase with SxS owners getting truck tires with the Discount Tire Road Hazard warranty, but they were heavy and caused excessive wear, and people didn't like the square shape as well, these are so much lighter. The Yokahama Super Digger is an example of the opposite, very round, which has always worked well for lightweight buggies, I think the tire can be lighter and slide more predictably, swapp through whoops and it is compliant and they hook up better in loose terrain. Just my 2 pesos... You see wider, flatter, chunkier tires for the rock crawling guys, so it really varies on terrain too.
