Considering Buying Used? Watch This Before You Buy!

Спорт

With all the upgrades going on in the SxS world, you might be better off picking up a used rig. You might find a nice car with a roll cage, lights stereo and more installed and ready to go. But you might find a SxS that has been hammered, with no maintenance. When you are ready to buy, you need to pay close attention to rebates in your local market, along with out the door pricing, so you can determine if buying used will stretch your dollar the most.
It's very difficult to figure out what a good deal is, there's always a lot less interest based on the season of the year, but hopefully these tips help you if you are looking to buy a SxS that has already been upgraded. There's always a group of people that have to have the latest and greatest, so they are selling and upgrading, which is an opportunity to snag a killer deal.
A used YXZ1000 is a whole lot of fun for $11k! Each vehicle has a price that would make it a great deal, just make sure you know it's been taken care of before you buy.

Have you considered buying a used SxS with lots of upgrades already installed?

Yes but why are they so expensive? Like why would a 2017 with upgrades cost $30k? With a couple of thousand miles. I just don’t understand this market

Thanks for sharing your insight. I still haven't bought yet for various reasons, mainly the constant evolution. Regarding wheel spacers. The Honda Talon 2 door is in my top 3 list, not at the very top because of the goofy different offsets front to rear. It forces you to have different wheel offsets front to rear, run the same size wheel all the way around and deal with the the track width change, or run the same size wheels with a spacer in the rear. Just goofy period.

Good tips, can you recommend your favorite riding areas in Arizona, especaially cooler spots for the summer? This would be a good series to do in the future too

Thank you. Crown King is easy if you start in the early morning, you are up into elevation before it gets too hot. Happy Jack has a ton of trails. I'm looking forward to possibly camping and exploring Williams Arizona, you have the train ride and Bearizona for a family trip. Sedona is great for a family trip, lots of other things to do, great restaurants, and I've only played around on the local trails, but I hear you can ride to Cottonwood, or up to Munds Park. I agree, that could be a good series, and I will have a few trips up there this Summer. Check out our "AZ Super Loop" video. It got hot once we got up to Winslow, but you get a look of the terrain in that area.

Hi Nick (I met you briefly Sat morning at Mt Carmel). I would love to see a video of you using your wheel bearing greaser and grease gun on your Turbo S. I've also got a Turbo S and have also recently started stepping up my maintenance game and would like to see how you maintain your vehicle.

A couple things I'd disagree on: Donaldson filters on rzrs are no go. Worse airflow than stock. Stock or an S&B. Miles depends on where you live, here in Northern Nevada many of us can ride right from our houses. Several people I ride with have 5-6k miles on their rigs that run like new. 2000 miles is broken in. Also, 1000 miles in the dunes is going to take a lot more of a toll on the drivetrain than 2000 on trails (in my opinion). One thing I'd caution anyone on is buying a car that didn't come stock with 32s riding on a stock drivetrain. If the person was cheap they used heavy wheels and heavy tires that put more strain on everything. It's like buying a used truck that is already lifted and has big tires, you're going to have more issues. Someone who's taken the time to correct gearing, geometry and suspension components will result in a better used vehicle.

SKU: 2882234 They are $64 on Amazon. I also run a Donaldson air filter in my race car. The S&B are cool and people love them, but I constantly blow mine out and have never had any issue.

Nothing is wrong with plugs, just something to notice, might cost a tire replacement when you go to negotiate the price.
