The dog costume Scene in the Shining id easily the most terrifying scene ever kept me awake for a lot of nights.

@@BIadesMan It’s an incredibly dull horror film with absolutely nothing to offer. It uses a bunch of lame jump scares instead of building tension.The films I ranked higher are slightly more interesting and entertaining for how terrible they are. Maybe I wouldn’t be so hard on if it wasn’t in the Conjuring universe. But it is. The only reason it’s not in dead last is because it’s more competent than Exorcist II.

Great video Sean, as always! Two biggest things I took from this video. 1. I really REALLY have to stop procrastinating and watch Dr. Sleep. 2. I'm so happy I'm not the only movie buff on the planet who doesn't vibe with Kubrick. Speaking of the Shining, I know you've already talked about the mini series in a ranking video, but just curious why it was left out in this? Other than the fact that 32 on 31 doesn't have the same ring to it, of course. For me, I saw the mini series first, and actually prefer it, though I'm sure I'm on an island with that one and I do understand it's many flaws, I just liked the ending better, and loved how they handled Jack's decent into madness better than they did in the 1980 film.. Anyway, enough blabbing.. happy belated Halloween!

Great list Sean! I also love Doctor Sleep. It's my list when i think my top 10 horror movies of all time.

Was originally disappointed in Dr. Sleep after a few more watches I love it

I was honestly dissappointed when I watched the exorcist. I heard my entire life that the exorcist was one of the scariest horror movies and one of the best in general and I just didn't find it that scary and found other horror movies more scary. I've also liked other horror movies a lot more. Maybe it's because I went in with high expectations that were almost impossible to meet but that's my experience with the exorcist.

Sean, I really like Your 31 on 31; I've seen Cody's, CP's, Brian's, & yours, & I like Your enthusiastic way of describing what you feel is great or good, Meh or Bad re each film.😊 I subscribe to Cody too, & also like his presentation style. I've seen Most but Not all of these 31 films: I've Not seen any Omen sequels, Dominion or Exorcist the Beginning, & I maybe saw Poltergeist 3 so long ago I Don't recall it, so I can't list my 31 yet. Out of all 4 lists, Yours is closest to how I think I'd rank the films I've seen, for e.g., Cody put The Blair Witch Project as #20, as He hates Shaky found footage films, so I avidly Disagree w/him re that; & he put The Exorcist at #8, but like you, I'd put It in My Top 5, likely top 3! I also like that You put The Conjuring The Devil Made Me Do It as #10, vs. Cody, Bri & CP put it very low, as I liked it & feel it's a good Conjuring film that they Underrated. Re Stanley Kubrick's The Shining, I get it's a well done, classic film, but it's NOT 1 of my favs either, as I Don't enjoy it, & since I learned that Kubrick Berated & treated Shelley Duvall like Crap, so her shrieking & terrified reactions on film were Real, it made me Mad at Kubrick,😟 so I like it even less, & appreciate You put it at #6, vs. 2 of them put it as #1.☹️ BTW I truly Prefer The Shining Miniseries w/Steven Weber & Rebecca De Mornay, which is a much Truer adaptation of Stephen King's book, so I wish you 4 included The Shining Miniseries, VS. The Omen 4 TV movie. Lastly I luv that all 4 of you put 1982's Poltergeist in your Top 5, as It's a Fantastic, classic, horror movie for many reasons, and I love & enjoy watching it.♥️

The Shining is just filled with layers of ambiguity. Every time I watch it, I discover new symbolic things in it. The Shining is my all-time favourite horror movie (I haven't seen The Exorcist yet), and, to me, Stanley Kubrick is a unique, brilliant filmmaker, and my personal favourite. Him and Kurosawa make me want to craft screenplays and pursue that dream.

I just watched Cody's list and hoped he put "The Shining" at number 1 and I was surprised and happy he actually did it! I'm about to watch yours then the other 2 rankings after. I'm hoping to see the KING "The Shining" at number 1 on this list too!

Well, agree to disagree. The Shining is such a masterpiece imo. I like to tell people sometimes this "My FAVORITE horror movie is The Thing 1982, but the BEST horror movie is The Shining 1980." It's kinda a way of me saying that my subjective opinion is that The Thing is the best horror film, but what I think is objectively the best horror movie is The Shining.

I think doctor sleep is probably my number 1 too. I adore that movie. I also love the exorcist and the conjuring 2 also!

I feel like I’m the only one who actually likes the Poltergeist remake, everyone trashes that movie. I like it more than any of the Insidious sequels honestly.

I love Doctor Sleep so much, and to see you put it in first place surprised me! Great placement though! Great ranking!

But on the other hand Doctor Sleep is so underrated and I definitely agree with it being at least top 10. It's outshined by the shinning but I think it's argubly just as great.

The exorcist is goofy and made me laugh. I don't see it as one of the best horror films of all time!!!
