This method could apply to any artist creating a suite of thematically related works of art, in any scale. What I wanted to tell you long ago: I started painting again because of you after almost 3 decades. (I thought I would have to concentrate a bit, I am a musician and a writer, both successful, but also time-consuming). Painting I missed so much over the years, a part of me missed it so infinitely, I was incomplete, but I did not want to admit it. Why, actually? I don't know. Then I discovered your videos this summer and knew: Eva, get out your paints (everything dried up, but by now I have enough to buy new what I need) and get going. Now I'm technically back where I left off so long ago, but with the perspective of a woman who has experienced life. The right time to get back into it. I am doing so much better! Thank you for your inspiration and zest for life. You were sent by an angel.

People doing Vlogmas had NOTHING on this, Jess! WOW. I am in awe of your mind, your art, your expressions of the world around you. *JESS* You are one of the only artists on the whole of KZread that is competent in more than 1 or 2 mediums. Very often someone will call themselves a pencil artist, or a watercolour artist, or an alcohol marker illustrator, but you use them all, from drawing with pencil, pens, inks, to painting with watercolour, gouache, acrylics, inks, and then you can also use pencils and markers. You are a truly amazing artist. Your ideas, skills, and abilities are amazing and I love watching your videos. Thanks for sharing your awesome skills with us lesser mortals. 😊

Im seriously so impressed, there wasn't a single letter that dropped the ball here. Really exciting to see so many different styles and mediums and you leaned into their strengths so well. I'm a doodler and digital artist but this video has me itching to maybe try something like water color for the first time. my favorite one of this video was H with the inking and water color on top :) Thanks for the inspiration!

I sure hope you put this into a children’s learn the A, B, C’s book! How fun to learn your letters AND see art. What fun that would be.

Hey Jess, I've been hooked on your videos ever since I watched your 100 heads challenge video. Your seemingly endless creativity, ability to portray emotions and ideas, and constant exploration and experimentation is so incredibly inspiring. I've been drawing and painting for 10 years but never have I come across such an absolutely, amazingly skilled and creative artist! I quite literally can't get enough of your art. Every time you upload, you manage to amaze and inspire me over and over again. I'm sure you've heard all this praise, I just had to add to it too I have one request. I know you're incredibly busy with projects, but if you're ever looking for something new to sell, consider an art book. A book of all the wonder and beauty that makes Jess's art. A singular place for someone to find inspiration. I'd love for something like that and I'm sure many others would too since your sketchbook tour videos are very popular. Glorious! The concepts behind the letters are glorious. The “H” was so surprising and delightful it made my heart leap!

Thank you for sharing so much of your process. I think we all fantasize about having our own versions of your concept books and beautiful sketchbooks, but our timeframes are much more extended without similar training and professional practice; it takes much practice to find your hand with different materials. I find some things much where I left off, others needing innovation to use materials that I want to explore.

This has to be the most marvelous video ive ever seen! Each letter illustration is absolutely amazing and whimsical and soothing. Incredible work, Jess 💛💛

I loved every letter, but the L especially stood out to me for their expressions. So peaceful. Amazing job!

How can I put into words that make sense, how emotional I became as I watched this. Every bit of energy that you poured into these letters was absolutely joyful to watch. The colors, the Metallic gold accents, the original characters.... all of it touched my Watercolor loving soul! I would love to get prints of them... I'd love to gift one for my 3 children... each with the 1st letter of their names! A, S and N.... ohhh I can't wait Jess. Thank You for making me tear up and smile so warmly in 2023!

I love this idea! The L maybe my favorite one because it reminds me of the lion King. This is such a good concept idea for artists who don't know where to start.

Your art and videos always spark so much emotion in me. I started an anxiety medication recently that stabilizes my emotions. I struggle to just let go and cry. This increases my gratitude when someone actually moves me to tears. Thank you for bringing that part of me out. It makes me feel like me again. 💗

What a great demonstration of creativity, skill, perseverance and story telling. Just a funny tidbit: in german the word "goal" translates to "Ziel" aka a word that starts with the last letter of the alphabet aka the final letter of your project :) Pretty fitting I would say.

I just can't get over the amount of creativity that you come up with!

This brings creativity and that's practice with challenges which makes us perfect thank you..

You're so insanely talented it's, well, insane lol. The creativity, attention to detail, color... Breathtaking. (Aside : You do realize that you basically just wrote and illustrated what could be one of the coolest kids' books ever, right??!)

25 times I said to myself: ok, this one is my favorite...and then i see the next one. When I got to 26, I had to watch it all over again! As a child I had a wonderfully illustrated alphabet book with tons of "hidden" objects relating to the letter on each spread and little poems to go with them. I wore it out :)

Dear Jess, you literally blew my mind. I have been an illustrator for many years, but then I was diagnosed with MS, and my hands failed me. I can`t draw anymore which, for me, is worse than having to use a wheelchair. But in my heart, I will always be an illustrator :))) This was the first time that I've watched your creations. More than once, this video triggered my deepest emotions. When you were sharing your thoughts, it was as if I was listening to myself :) You literally made me cry... Everything you do from filming, contemplating, choosing the right music, environment, and lighting, presenting your thoughts, speaking in your soft voice, your different choices of media, and of course your realization of your ideas, and even your looks are pure perfection. And when you finished the Alphabet with the letter Zet and decided to go with ZEN I got goosebumps when you said: "I channeled my inner child." My little grandson`s name is Zen :) It was a privilege to join you on this journey. Excuse my imperfect English. I hope my comment makes any sense, should you read it. This whole project. . . WOW. All of the personal challenges that you crushed, how beautiful the artwork is, how you integrated SO MUCH into it. . . So INSPIRATIONAL! Can I request an art book based on this work and your paired written work? The artwork on one side, the written work on the other?? It would be so amazing to be able to have that to sit and reflect for inspiration.

I REALLY enjoyed watching this whole video in one sitting. As other people are saying, the quality of this video is amazing! The music you chose to go along with the different pieces is so fitting, and I feel sooo inspired while looking at the art you've made and listening to the music at the same time. It's amazing how all the colors you chose go along with each other and the shapes are so pleasing to look at. I love the color palettes also! Jess, YOU and your art work are truly AMAZING. It's great to see the dedication and hard work it took for you to complete this series. Sometimes, I struggle with creativity when making art, but it's so cool to see your process of coming up with ideas and transforming them into an actual piece of art. I had something like this in my creative design studies in art school. We were asked by our professor to transform some letters in the alphabet to artworks. Not the lettering artwork but like draw a person or an object that is the shape of an A for example. It was really fun.
