First off older teachers and newer ones in using coaches need to understand that harassing another student, asking inappropriate questions, and physically trying to touch them isn’t “He likes you, Ignore it or suck it up.” That if done by an adult to another would have been sexual assault or harassment. Just because they are kids doesn’t mean they can’t learn to keep their hands to themselves.

I'm always telling my kids to respect others' bodily autonomy. If someone wants you to stop touching them, you STOP, even if it's not sexual in nature. The oldest is almost 10 so that's my approach for now.

first story: I will never encourage people to make up false stories, but i do applaud her ingenuity in getting him to actually pay for his crimes. and just for note, the reason i dislike false stories is that they can and will ruin people's lives. in middle school, i was friends with this one girl. well, she had a bit of a reputation for being loose (yes, even in middle school). well, she had a bit of a pregnancy scare. so she blamed me 'forcing' her. the only reason I wasn't charged is because i was basically comatose in the hospital with mono during the week she said it happened. she knew i had been in the hospital, but didn't realize that I was unconscious, on IV nutrition, and barely clinging to life at the time. the sentence i was facing? 5 years in juvie, registration on THAT list, etc. penalty i did receive? I was a social pariah in school until i dropped out the day i turned 18. literally everyone hated me, save for the 2-3 people that knew the truth. everyone else just assumed i had gotten off on a technicality. penalty she faced for lying and trying to lock me up? a $50 fine for falsification of a report. edit: btw, the 2-3 people that knew the truth were my cousin, my stepbrother, and my best friend, all of whom had visited me during my stay in the hospital. And I say 2-3 people instead of 3 because my cousin had a crush on her, so he was torn between believing her vs believing that I was actually just faking being unconscious.

Last story: As a kid we stole beers from family members at cookouts when they weren't looking. We hated the taste but dude, we got really good at the theivery. When you can take the beer from someone's hands and get away with it you are bound to drink it. I still don't like beer to this day but I drink one every so often when I want to remember a time when my siblings and I didn't hate each other.

I got suspended for defending myself, the a-hole got taken down with me. Safe to say, the scared look on his face when he walked by me out the door confirmed he learned his lesson. Best thing to ever happen to me, even if it was a BS punishment.

Here is why high school is so bad. I get punished for trying to help my grandmother not get scammed or hacked, and I am paper thin from not being able to take my umbrella to school. For air drying it so water doesn't get in my backpack and form mold. No, I am not kidding. It's probably because I am one of 10 out of 2,000 students who take an umbrella and don't get rained on, and my teachers are creating an excuse. If they try this, I will still take my umbrella.

the guy in story one got what was comeing to him . to be honest someone at the school should have looked into his acts sooner and expelled him or at least transference him to another school for a last chance .

When I was around three years old my parents were having a little house party. My memory is a bit hazy, this is around 38 years ago and, well, I was three. What I do remember was waking up in the middle of the night and going downstairs to have a look at what was going on. My dad saw me and introduced me to some friends, then I asked what he was drinking. He had a pint glass with beer in it. He offered me a sip, which I took and instantly hated it, it was very bitter. Then he took me back to bed. Not a great story, but that last one reminded me of it.
