A 700 series RC Helo is fast as F.... So fast. Can change direction in a blink.. milliseconds... Dragonfly still faster. Lil faster., Unlike a butterfly or a moth..Bird..., ect... a Dragonfly... they can get out of the way. Like a Bat can. Fly circles around a 700.

That’s a serious bit of kit!

Slow throttle response is due to “soft start” a feature of the esc. The rotor will spool up slowly until it reaches flying rpm. After that throttle response will be normal. I like using it🤙🏼

No!! Soft start is the start power on initial spool up only. He was already spooled up. He is looking for “head speed change rate” lower that parameter and that will stop the violent change from head speed to higher head speed

@@Gggggghhvvbbb the power delay on start up is what Kev was referring to "gotta wait 10s before the rotor starts to spool up", hence the comment on soft start!! The latter part of the video where he asks if anyone has any ideas on how to stop the violent jump between flight modes is what I believe you're referring to!? That can only be negated by adjusting the throttle curves to have less of a gap or difference but as nearly all Idle up curves are either horizontal or a slight 'v' there will always be a bit of a 'jump' from normal to idle up 1/2! :-)

Oh that sound is amazing! I’ve seen some videos of these stunt pilots of these, and man, they were doing the craziest shit I’ve ever seen! And at night t boot. It had lights, but it was truly amazing.

Here you can see, this man is a MAKER. Flies the king class of rc in its most difficult grade (3D). Most people giving up on learnin to fly rc helis.

to be fair, that cheap iron can be as powerful as an expensive one but you don't have temp control and it doesn't last very long.

The delay of the blades spooling up is called "soft start"

That is not normal soft start behavior. It should immediately start the soft start process once throttle hold is flipped. It's a calibration issue within the Ikon2, I had the same issue with mine.

Just got mine today March 27th. Good vid for me since I have the exact same heli and the DX8 G2. Also have the 380 buddy, SAB for me all the way. Good flying, I'm not that good but having a blast.

As a pilot hearing "boom" I was SCREAMING EMPANAGE!!

Maybe the 10 second delay for it to spool up is a safety feature in case you hit the throttle stick by accident?

No it's not. It's improper gov spool up settings not set correctly. Where do you get this nonsense?

Kevin, rethink the LiPo Mount. Those sticky pads are good, but they're not ideal. I've ejected LiPos on my Kraken 580 because they gave way. You're much better off using industry strength velcro from Halfords etc.

Need to go into advance settings in the ikon and adjust spool up time and the decell time. I set my low and slow to the blades don't whip on start up. And when using a govonor, if the decel and spool up is too aggressive, it will "jump" to the next rpm in idle up modes instead of "ramping" up or down the head speed.

Helicopter stunts are so sick!

I think it's awesome your getting Into some heli stuff. If just one new pilot starts flying it would be worth it!

I just wanted to say despite the unfortunate turn of events that happened between you and your friend I TRULY ENJOY WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS. I WATCH AS MANY AS POSSIBLE. You defnetly need a vbar Control Touch and a neo! With that you can do all the Setup via your Transmitter on the field and easily Share helis

Once you have the tail push rod figured out, please use jb weld so it does not break loose.. You have slow start spool up on. Change the start up speed to 3 in the esc

I believe the the Slow Throttle response thing is a safety Feature to stop you Accidentally full throttling it while your doing things with it.

Absolutely in Awe you can fly a proper RC Heli Kevin. Best I can do at length is a 4 channel fixed pitch. Tried multiple times..(And I'm a flier of 27+years) I'll hover... but I over correct... that was 10 years ago... I'm sure the hardware is "friendlier" now hate watching a nitro heli beat itself to death on the ground... plus you gotta take cover hahahaha "What Happened!!!) Seb make works of ART. Not kidding that beast is Gorgeous!! Also take notice your attention to detail is amazing on these Helis... Awesome work mate... The flying is 10 levels above fixed wing, normal aircraft. Huge Thank You for this vid....

Another useful tool to get would be some flush cut cutters, which would stop that nasty, finger slicing excess sticking out of the ty-wraps or a Ty-wrap gun which tightens to the correct tension for the size of tie and cuts the end off clean!?

OMG. Kevin what a monster copter you got there, you fly like i pro too. Cool. I have try RC Helis three times. Two Big Nitros and one smaller Brushless. All three i Crash very very bad in 10 seconds. One of the Big Nitros was dangerously close hit me at High Speed also LOL. These are dangerous if you dont know what you are Doing :) Hope to see more cool stunts with this Mega Copter coming Summer. You did couple fantastic stunts in this Video already. Nice . You are good Pilot Kev. Impressed

Kev those satellite receivers are supposed to be spread out and in a certain orientation. That’s why the wires are long.

The 10 sec spool is the esc doing a calibration test because you most likely have the ESC governor set to “gov store” mode instead of Linear mode. Must be in linear mode when using ikon governor.
