Beautiful looking RUM
I missed the live premiere, daughter's wedding coming on 3 weeks. Yup was important sorry. RUM is a beast, get an Elk. Have Elk in Kentucky 🤣 thanks Adam. Always real. Night have great weekend
I really like your heavy hitting 300 rum! Nice job sighting it in! I'm voting for 1000 yards or a cinder block text!🇺🇸✝🇺🇸
Great rifle/scope set up Adam. Savage are well known for their accuracy. I appreciate how you show the video how you filmed it. Warts and all. Take care and thanks for sharing mate!
300 rum. That will be my newest rifle cartridge.
Those Hornady 190 grain Hollow Point Boat Tail Match grade is my favorite 300 RUM Ground Hog load

Now THAT is overkill, and I approve lol. I need to find some farmers in Ohio that need groundhogs removed. I want to try my .300 on some at long ranges. Some 210 VLD rounds would be fun 😁
THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR THOUGHTS AND TIME.
People are funny man, they have sighting systems at Cabela's today's Walmart everywhere but they want you to tell them to sight their's in but still they are quick to tell you that "sleds break scopes 🥴" lol. Anyways appreciate the video though, it's a great hunting setup with more than enough for anything in North America, merica🇺🇸🔫👍👍
Enjoyed the video, great job sighting in the scope!!! 3 does a day, wow! Wish we had 3 does a season down here in Florida, 😆
Glad to know I'm not the only one who strips bolt heads....as long as it's not the threads, they usually stay put.

It should never happen if you are using the correct tools, especially at the level of force required for those particular ones. Never.
I must have missed the hundred-yard gallon jug thing, but that is a good-looking rifle have a good time shooting it
I missed the live! That was pretty good just 2 shots! I would have thought you would have shot a 3 shot group tho even with the $5-6 price on this ammo! Hard for me to trust just the one shot.

He said he was going to buy factory ammo and sight it in with that for hunting. So this was just using some unknown hand loads to get it close for the factory ammo as these came included with the rifle
Hahahaha! Best part about a who-tee vid? He has yet to meet a firearm he doesn’t like! That hammer of Thor is a beauty!
Use a rubberband to get grip on the bolts when you remove the scope.
300RUM = Good steel rings and base! Keep those beauties out of the lead sleds. They need recoil room. 300RUM BIG medicine! Love 'em! The caliber dentists recommend.
I highly recommend a 1 piece base from MDT or Burris with a built in recoil lug, which removes a lot of stress off the rings. Great for peace of mind ELR shooting past 1k 😉 I have a MDT on my .300rum and after bedding the recoil lug in the stock on my factory Rem 700 Long Range, I'm getting great sub-MOA groups at 1k with factory Nosler 180 E-tips

Yes, the 1 piece base from burris is very solid and worth buying. I have it on my commercial mauser 98, centurion 123 30.06.
That's a good looking 300 dude , I like my 300 win mag just fine. I'm with u on the scopes also , never tore one up , cheap or not.
Well now that was a interesting video and a interesting caliber, but no way would I pay $5 to $6 to pull the trigger on anything. However if I had a KZread channel like you do it would be a different thought process for sure. I have always liked Nikon Scopes and also hated to see Nikon get out of making scopes. Also excellent job of zeroing that rifle with the least amount of rounds.

It is a lot of money for shells But if you're hunting really how many shells do you need to shoot a year One To check the scope And one per animal That you Shoot Even at 5 or $6 a shell that's a pretty small part of your hunting expense
I have that exact same scope on my Remington 700 R5 Tactical in 308. It’s a very nice scope.
Missed premier Missed the premier, but watching the video. Love the RUM!!!
Those Hornady's out of that on a whitetail might be pretty explosive! That should really reach out and touch them though.
I always liked the Savage 110. My first rifle in 30-06. Shoots 1/2 inch groups. When purchased it o cost me $190 probably my best bang for the buck.
Sighting in a gun at 100 yards (starting out) challenge. See how many rounds it takes would be cool to watch. Obviously it would be done with budget friendly ammo likely. Still would be cool to see

Two groups of three adjusting off the first. Let it cool down 3 more should have you dead on if not already. Also depends on experience. Humans are greatest factor.
Nice job , I really like the caliber. That round is definitely not for the weak at heart .

That was a pretty quick sight in. It really sucks that the bolt heads stripped on the ring bases. That reminds me of why I don't normally use the included tool with most things if I have a better one.
I agree with the low power optic over irons, got a vortex strike eagle 1-6x24 on my marlin dark series 45-70
Thanks for the video Love my rum

I heard the same about the lead sled, I’ve used one for years, and with the RUM, I place shot bags on the bottom, no problems yet, Zeiss conquest scope on a Remington 700 SFII
Love that rifle! I've been looking all over the planet for lower price's for the 300 RUM. So far they're about the same price's, but if I fine any I'll call Paul right away. I did hear their was a little gun store way up in northern Siberia if you want to take a vacation. Yes I would love to see you take a deer with it and the Brno 7.5. 3 Doe a day, I'm moving their tomorrow. Sincerely Ruger Rich
Excellent job. 😎👍
I really like that 300 rum… that was a great score @ the gun show for WTW
We used to shoot 12ga shotgun slugs out of a pump shotgun in a lead sled and never had issues with our cheap 4x scopes. They were hot to say the least.
She got a nice stock on her! I need a good but not too expensive long range scope for my Winchester mod 70 in .300 win mag.
the "big" big bang in .300 , probably too much recoil for my taste but amazing rifle

@@scottydavis1813 Totally worth the thread job right?! B4 a brake, scope hit my nose and eye a cpl times during barrel break in and after 20 rds, my shoulder was done. I put a Ultradyne Apollo Max on mine last week, but have yet to try it. Supposed to reduce 60%, which is far better than the cheap Stoner. I'll post vids of the differences when I get out to Thunder Valley soon.

Proper sight in is with a cold bbl only. Bores going to be cold when hunting. Common sence. Also, sighting in @ 1 inch high @ 100 yds puts most rifles into "point blank" out to 400 yards. Point blank is a 5 inch circle @ 400 yds.
@masondick4851
2 жыл бұрын
1” at 100 won’t give you point blank at 400😂 most rifles need 2” high at 100 to be 0 at 2 and still be 6-9” low at 3
Thanks!
1000 yard test? Those bullets are massive. Clay test with one of those would probably be pretty damn cool
Bed the rifle down look through the barrel at 25 yds. and put the cross hairs on the target. Should be afew inches high at 100. Simple old fashioned just like me lol 😂 and it works. Really saves on ammunition!
Just so you know, I walk around the house singing the w.t.w song. My kids think I'm crazy. Lol Give em all the zoomies you can! C'mon man!
Man you got lucky on that fourth round adjustment. Two on paper and 3 was off paper. I would have been worried lol
Beautiful wood on that rifle!
Hootie, you have more shooting control than I do.. If I had 20 rounds, I had to shoot 10, seaking perfection (and the joy of shooting). I would usually hit the 8 of the next 10 though. Love your videos.
Awesome.

thats' one hell of a .30 cal...jeeez......like totally impressed..
Good range day. Didn't break the bank. Nice rifle & powerful round.
Throw some light duty loctite or something similar but with less adhesion maybe for a temporary fix on the striped screws.

Awesome
I had a 300 Weatherby once, fire a boatload of Handloded 180gr bullets, to say it punished you at the bench is a understatement! That was before Leadsleds.
I have a .300 rum with a Nikon 4-16 mil dot reticle. Heavy fluted barrel and a fat boy muzzle break on her. It is very accurate and present to shoot. Working on at least a 500 yard zero.
That song at the end is awesome
Great job, brother. I'll be getting a 300 RUM one day, Lord willing.
Nice bullseye. Have a great night.
An option for those whitetails? That right there is an option for a frickin charging rhino, no problem! I'd definitely back up that bullseye shot before I took it out hunting tho. Sweet setup in any case ✌
Nice gun. Keep the content coming.

I'm definitely a fan of the 300 magnums, but I'm really looking into the 6.8 western. That's the one you're hunting with this year right?
You need to remember that putting the cross hair on the first shot. It seemed to be perfect
Now you need to put it in the line-up for the gong! Shoot some steel!!!
very nice
another really nice gun, thought i could hear the bullet there on the bullseye shot.

Nice! 😀
You can buy Leupold steel rings and bases for about anything for around $50
Such a amazing weapon holy shit
Love to see a deer hunt with that rifle Whotee!
4 shot sight in. 😁👍
I would suggest that you do a presentation on the 300 saum, the short brother to the 300 rum
I always said a rifle without a scope is like a rifle without sights
Would never consider it done with only one shot after moving it that far.
Burris Zee rings are really nice for the price
I would use a fuller grip, wrapping the thumb around the grip to control recoil in the field.
Hello , I would put money on those being 220 gr. Eld-x bullets good for all game!! My rum is a Rem. 700 in laminate stock weighs like 10 pounds with the scope. Kicks about like 7mm mag. with the muzzle brake on it. I like your savage and will likely own one at some point. I killed a cow elk with mine, it is a beast 💪!!!!!!

The bullet has a cannelure around it so not an eldx. Since he bought it off an old guy at a gun show I doubt they even made that bullet when he loaded those. Probably an sst.
@bkb5668
2 жыл бұрын
@@Nick-sx6jm I did not notice the canalure. The reason I thought Eld-x is because I would not even consider an sst for the .300 rum. except for mabey target practice. If you would like to see a bullet fail shoot an sst out of the rum at game inside 200 yards. Also that old guy could have loaded those rounds last week as far as anyone knows. Just sayin'. Have a good evening.
If you have to remove the rings use a drill and the head of the bolts use a bit slightly bigger than the shank of the bolt no risk of damage to the scope
Yeah I can't imagine shooting my dad 300 with irons but lucky he has a scope on it since I kinda like my teeth
