I really like 300 RUM for its ability to ‘defeat’ level 4 armor. And when I mean defeat I mean not necessarily penetrate the armor but cause tremendous /unsurvivable backface deformation. Too bad there’s no semi auto platform for this

Hey Adam. The speed of those hand loads are consistent with 180 grain projectiles for what it's worth. My friend has a Remington 700 in the 300RUM and loves it on everything thing from sambar deer to pigs and scrub bulls. The vortex ammo is the bomb with Barnes TTSX projectiles which as you said is exy alright. Just curious what scope you might be thinking of putting on this jigger? As always, I enjoyed your video and the trouble you go to and thanks for sharing mate!

Recoil being no slouch I think a beartooth cheek riser would do some good with jarring your jaw pretty good. They’re on Amazon not too expensive either.

I got my 300 RUM in 1999 as a graduation college present for an Elk hunting trip to Wyoming. That rifle pissed off everybody at the range when I sighted it in, he came over to me yelling about the muzzle blast and there are no Moose in NC. Bruised my shoulder after 20 rounds of Nosler parrition bullets. I always loved firing it and everybody looking down the firing line at me.
