It’s astonishing to me that huge projects built in the 90’s are already coming down (the Dallas stadium, the Chinese viaduct). A project that large should have MUCH longer than a 30 year life. What colossal wastes of money, energy and materials.

I lived in the Red Road flats 23rd floor) the same one seen being demolished, when my son was born I bought a case of beers to celebrate, we only had a small fridge and the freezer compartment bit was tiny, I got the baby bath that we bought and put water and ice cubes in it to put the beers in, the weather was terrible that night and the water was swaying from side to side along with the living room because of the wind? I had never stayed in a high rise flat before and learned that the building was made to bend or it would just crack and collapse, what a scary experience that was 😮

I remember seeing the the Contenental National Bank building in Fort Worth go down. I was about 2 miles away. I knew it was going to be imploded and I was showing a friend where it was. They had announced a time for the demolition about an hour later than when they actually did it. We stepped outside so I could point out which building it was, and just as I pointed, the building fell straight down. Then I heard the sound of the explosives, followed by a giant cloud of dust. Had I waited for the official time I would have missed it. It was the first building in Fort Worth that I ever saw. I was 6 years old and we were driving west on the old turnpike (now I-30), and I saw the clock which showed the time and temp. For years it was the tallest building in Fort Worth, and you could see the clock from almost anywhere in town.

The first 23 seconds is the short version. No need to watch further if you're in a hurry. And the physics is badly explained around 24:40, the "higher end" does not move faster, in fact you can see it is actually lagging behind the rotation of the bottom part. If the chimney could have stayed together, the "higher end" would HAVE to move faster, but it can't so the taller items break instead.

Yep building 1 fell in its own footprint so did building 2 then add building 3 that had not suffered any damage also falling in its own footprint, sad but its not the first time the American government has pulled off such things. May those that lost their lives on that day rest in peace. Am not American but what I saw was controlled demolition probably military grade thermite , wont say what that explosive was but HE versions of it exist, 2 many anomalies about that scenario exist and add into that the light plane that crashed into the Pentagon, strange no wreckage was found at hat event also strange how no forensic investigation was done at the WTC site and all the rubble was conveniently shipped out without analysis, by the way most of it was shipped to China as scrap steel but I digress, I find it bizarre that suddenly passports where found from the alleged hijackers at ground zero, explain that one to me, yeah one jet motor was recovered I see red flag ops all over the whole event. Disagree with me that's fine but anyone reading this comment I ask you have just watched a multitude of controlled demos falling into heir own footprint, see any similarities if no unfortunately you are either blind or indoctrinated about he events of September 11 . How dare I say that , I lost two people in hat event.

no, not likely. what is shown on the screen, done in 20 seconds, is years in the planning. very few people would have been displaced. ihey were already tough to lease and since the city owned them, they would have given the remaining tenants 12 months to find a place, if they hadn't already. what precedes and proceeds the demolition, is new housing. city planners would have planned for 3-5 years prior with some new housing already built in the area to keep things cohesive. once the debris is removed, the last stages of the plan can go forward. also a good chance it brought people back as well. the 90's and early aughts saw many eastern seaboard us cities remove the people warehouses, or high-rise tenements in favor of a combination of rowhouse type housing, midrise multi-use, a 5 story with ground floor being retail and the floors above apartments or condos. many sociologists, psychologists and anthropologists argue that the murphy homes that dotted the eastern seaboard, from northern virginia up through baltimore, philly, new jearsy, brooklyn, the bronx, queens, and lower manhattan (alphabet city) was the worst experiment the nation conducted on corralling all the low income, people of color, the infirmed, encouraging them these buildings would have everything, cities within cities is the start of the decline of american cities. all the drug epidemics, gangs, turf wars, crime, assault, increases in murders, the cia introducing these communities to crack, designed specifically for the black community, which now allowed reagan to begin the the war on drugs, the war on crime, then criminalizing being poor, all the ilk of the cities in the 70's, 80's, & 90's, began with the murphy homes. but each citiy still had it's own identity, it's flavor, it's industry, it's regional pride, it's place on the hierarchy. of course now, cities thriough the city counsels have reignited the war, but in a more gentle way, through the wallet. you don' like it, that's your city counsel at work. crime's down, amazon leasing 35% of all office space, things are clean, new services coming in. don't like it, vote out that city counsel. whites were trippin. cities are open to all, if you can pay to play. so began the next city emigration, white working class, no longer able to afford to live in the city they support. more places available to see and rent, increased rents, home prices 25% increase, all the luxe brands are opening outlets in prime just out of the city center locales. the cities are now so homogenized, you wouldn't know if you were in seattele, la, dc, philly unless you looked at your iphone or rolex gmt all that to keep space available for white folk, now it's just rich white folk only, and rich people of whatever color. cities only discriminate on green now.

@@jacksons1010 WTC wasn't intended to look like an intential explosive caused collapse. Yet it sure looks like one The third WTC supposedly looks like a collapse. The reporter from BBC did a story on the collapse before it happened. She spoke in past tense. WTC 3 was still clearly visible through a window next to her shoulder.

I'm sure to the misinformed they do look the same except they aren't. Watch these carefully and you see destruction of the base is what causes the collapse, any other charges insure that the building comes down orderly and in a confined space. The collapses you're referring to started in the upper third and led to a gravity fueled domino effect. No metal had to melt to accomplish this, just heated up to the point that it loses the tempering that made it strong. Combine that with the unique system of having the outer skin providing the majority of the structural integrity and you have a flaw exploitable by a guy who just happened to have a doctor's degree in structural engineering.

If the towers hadn't been hit by planes and building 7 hadn't been partially collapsed to begin with, they probably would've been. My Dad worked in that building and lost a lot of his coworkers that day...and I nearly lost him myself. I'm glad the WTC wasn't included. Calling that day a "controlled" demolition (in my personal opinion) is very disrespectful. However, to each their own I suppose 🤷‍♀️
