$30 MINI COOPER WALNUT BLAST ALTERNATIVE? WAS SURPRISED & DEFINITELY WORTH A LOOK!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I am going to have my intake valves walnut blasted in the near future. However I came across this product at my local auto parts store and decided to give it a try and see if it is worth peoples time. I was surprised at the results. Enjoy.

    Thank you showing how to see the valves without pulling the whole engine down. That's helpful. I'm up for doing the job myself, but not if I don't have to. Just changing out the plugs and coils made night and day difference. I will be changing out the injectors next and will take a look at the valves then; in the manner you show in this video. Tons of videos about how to clean the valves. your's is the only one that shows how to see the valves (Mini Cooper) without pulling the engine apart. We need more videos like this one. Thank you again.

    I tried soaking my carbonised valves in Subaru Upper Engine Cleaner and it dissolved like butter. Pretty good results but I also took manifold off and scrubbed.

    Might check this out, got a 2007 on 60,000. Do you think the cleaner combined with some brushing/scraping would be as effective as walnut blasting?

    @elroz1675 Жыл бұрын

    Interesting. Seems rather effective in terms of price: results. I THOUGHT that I would need to put the little hose towards the throttle body, and NOT through the airboot that leads into the turbo. But you did that towards the turbo and not the throttle body - and all was fine.

    Hi, you put it on the turbo pipe, it doesn't damage the MAF sensor right?

    Unfortunately they discontinued this product a couple of years ago. Not sure where to find it anymore 🤷🏼‍♂️. There are other off brands that offer the same thing but have different cleaning detergents & SDS in general and am not sure if they are OK for the turbo.

    Okay thank you for your reply. If I decide to go to the Walnut room on my 2.3 EcoBoost bronco for having the blasting process done, and what do you think of fair price is? Thank you

    @@VetOnVettes actually you can do it closer to the throttle body. You barely make any boost if you run at 2500 rpm stationary. It would give better results and you don't run the chance of the product condensating in the intercooler. But great video. Wanted to try this on my N18, will surely do it now. Has 100k miles, pretty heavy tuned but never walnut blasted. Have oil catch can from when i bought the car. No issues so far but i recognise the rpm movement you talked about. It's not huge but it is defenitly there.

    You injected WAY WRONG. you need to be in the other side boost hose , infront of the throttlebody but behind that map sensor.. you just sent ALL that into ur turbo and intercooler. You ALSO NEED to change your oil and sparkplugs afterwards. My buddy just wiped out his 1x month old turbo by doing what you just did.. be careful posting BAD INFO

    These are DI, not port injected. Fuel never touches the intake valves.. hints why you get carbon buildup.

    It’s not a terrible car. It’s a MINI thing.! Something about them / bmw just like any other car you had to stay on top of maintenance. If you don’t do all changes, don’t buy a mini.
