30-Days Surviving in Wilderness - Cook, Eat, Everything! | ASMR - 'The MOVIE'
Ойын-сауық
I surviving eating all wilds foods found in Texas, from alligator gar, crawfish, peahen, possum, raccoon, ringed tailed cat, drum, catfish, rattle snake, softshell turtle, gopher, and all sorts of other wild edibles. FULL PLAYLIST: • Caveman In The Woods |...
Bob Hansler: / horsebackbob
A gar strikes and we are forced to wrestle it to shore. Next, we clean it and get it ready for eating cooked over the fire fresh bushcraft survival style. We catch and cook a diamondback rattlesnake over an open fire using just a stick.
Unlike Naked and Afraid, ALONE, or Survivorman, there is no limit to the tools we are allowed to use. Living off just WILD foods is harder than you think!
In this episode we set live traps for nuisance and fur bearing mammals which are legal in Texas including possum, raccoon, rabbit, skunk, armadillo, feral hogs, javelina, badger, fox, porcupine, bobcat, coyote, gopher, ring tailed cat, soft shelled turtle, red eared slider, rattle snake, water snake.
We hunt FERAL hog too!
We fish for catfish, alligator gar, long nose gar and drum, crawfish, crawdads, or yabbies, ghost shrimp, bluegill, rio grande perch, armored catfish, flathead catfish, blue catfish, alligator, freshwater clams, leopard Frog.
All wild foods are on the menu!
We seek out wild edibles including prickly pear cactus pads or nopal, cactus fruit or tuna, wild onions, mulberries, wild grape, Texas persimmons, pecan and anacua, mulberry, tasajillo, turks cap, yucca pods, cats briar, onion, chili pequin, duck weed, ground cherries, desert hackberry.
We show you how to harvest and cook cactus pads or nopal from prickly pear cactus as well as how to remove cactus thorns. We show you how to collect and identify wild onions and process them into a bush meal cooked in a dutch oven over the fire. I'll teach you a neat trick to harvest a huge pile of mullberries using a long stick and some plastic.
We show you how to harvest and cook an escaped/exotic pea hen (pea fowl/pea cock) which is legal in Texas since it is considered an domesticated animal. We cook the giant bird in a dutch oven using a dry pluck technique to preserve all the nutrients and fat in the skin. We pair this up with some left over cat meat from stew as well as mullberries we collect ripe from trees near our camp.
I will show you how to harvest and cook a fresh caught catfish in order to use get the most out of the fish as possible including the organs, and even the swim bladder. We cook fish using primitive techniques that keep the skin on the fish and we cook it right on the hot coals. We add wild onion to our left over meals to stretch out our calories.
We show you how to pluck the hair off a possum and then cook it primitively using just a few sticks. The hair is plucked using a wet rub over a hot flame to loosen the hair. This helps preserve all the fat and moisture in the meat. Find out if we prefer this method over the standard dutch oven for flavor and nutrient retention for wilderness living and survival.
We show you how to clean and prepare a softshell turtle in order to make soup that will help us stay alive in our survival challenge. We also find and eat more mullberries and other wild edibles local to South Texas.

@10:45 picking mulberries, when they’re ripe mulberries are so sweet and juicy. When I was born my Dad planted a Japanese mulberry tree in our backyard, once it got big enough it put out the biggest berries ever. Some would get as big as 2 inches or more and as big around as a man’s thumb. My best memories are Saturday morning breakfast pancakes from scratch with mulberry syrup. Me and my 3 brothers lips would be stained purple for most of the summer. So many good memories triggered from seeing a single berry. 😊
Meu Deus!!! Para viver esse tipo de aventura tem que ser corajoso e ter estômago muito forte parabéns 👍👍👍

Great video, survival from nature. For the earth oven , try lit the fire inside the hole and pile the stones on top whilst the fire burning through it. Once stones are red hot then continue as you did. Just another way to do it. Leave for 2 hours, meat will fall off the bones 👌
Chris did you drive or fly to Texas? The meals you were cooking , did you write down the times , so we can cook like you ? It was another epic anecdote with Bob Hansen there. Keep up the good work. God bless y'all.
I love videos with you and Mr. Bob. You both are great role models to younger men who are hungry for knowledge on this. Since starting to watch you, Zackery, Bob. I have been on many camping trips even got my family into it. We are on our 3rd year and everyones begging me to pick a spot to take them. Florida is HOT waiting for the end of year. Anyways, Thank YOU for all your hard work! Im sure its not easy.

Crazy awesome video. I loved the idea of no talking. The fact you eat every kind of species is admirable but I am saddened that your culture doesn't acknowledge mother nature's bounty with spiritual gratification anymore. Once upon a time I'm sure they did but it seems to have been lost along the way as your ancestors gradually became less attached to the earth's aura and life forces and it's unselfish sacrifice to provide physical nourishment. Please remember life for life passes spiritual sacrifice also. Maori culture from New Zealand Kia ora ki a koutou. Kia Kaha. Be strong
