For years, I and the rest of my family didn't have the money to buy gifts that cost a lot of money so we as a family made the decision we could buy the "Ingredients" to make a gift but it had to be home made. 40 years later this is still what we do. Orly, you are the sister that I don't have and need in my life. 😁 I just love everything you do. These ideas are spot on for gifts!! The gift that you did for the Zarrellis, you showed a cake stand. Instead of just putting vinyl on it, use the vinyl as a stencil on the cover and then etch the glass. It looks so high end. Thanks for everything you share on this channel. Love your creative brain.

Cool ideas! Grammar geek here. Just letting everyone know that plurals should never contain an apostrophe, including names. Example: The Zarrellis. As a teacher, I try to share this with people who might be making gifts.

Watching the video again to takes notes and make a list. So many fun ideas!!! May I add, I love personalizing pillowcases. I embroider, but you could paint or cut a Cricut design. I love sewing short phrases that wrap around the "cuff" of the pillowcase opening. This video really puts the joy back in the gifting!!!! THANKS FOR THIS!!! Happy holidays to you and your family!

My mom got her Circuit before I got mine, so when I got one I went over to her house for a little tutorial. She told me to always put the shiny side down on HTV and said "Remember, shiny side down, no one wants to see your shiny hiney." And, uh, I still haven't forgot. So if you can remember that, you'll always put the vinyl down the correct way!! 🤣

I love when people come up with creative ways to save money in gift giving. It is not about how much the gift cost, but about the thought that is put in it. These are all great gift ideas, Orly, because so many people have not returned to work and have limited budgets. I adore the blinged out slippers. The pearled embellished ones have to be my favorites. I got some rhinestones I recently purchased from Dollar General for $5 that have large, medium and small rhinestones. This was such a good buy I purchased two, lol. Happy belated Thanksgiving to you and your family, love! See you next week!

Great ideas! I still love those slippers. I’m using my Cricut for several gifts. My sister lives far away from me and packages often go missing in the mail. So I’m creating a bunch of transfer labels for her kitchen - coffee, snacks, sugar etc - and mailing them to her so she can put them on the canisters she already owns. Then, they can go in the mail, regular post. Easy peasy.

I LOVE my CRICUT Maker. I love making personalised gifts for people. Today I made a cushion cover for a friend’s bed with a photo of her 4 year old Daughter with her 4 year old Labrador.She is helping us train my Service GSD dog Loki, who ADORES her. Tomorrow I am making stockings for my Grandchildren personalised with their initials.Is your Cricut Maker 3? I have never had the option to use vinyl without a mat.

I'm so happy for you! You're gonna love it. No you can totally use a regular iron, the cricut press is cool because it gets so hot and it's large. But you're regular iron will absolutely work!

oh yea, use whatever you want. For me the cricut is great because it can cut all those materials with laser precision, so thats fun for me. But the goal of this video would be to inspire people to customize simple gifts to make them more special...without more money.

Some nice ideas here. I actually have a request: over the summer, you did a Xmas DIY on Home & Family about decorating a pocket on shirts using Xmas fabric. Do you think you could do an in-depth video on that because the segment seemed a bit rushed and the written instructions left out some info. If you're thinking about it, now is the time!! they're majorly on sale right now! and I have that discount code too. I think the explore air can do pretty much everything. I do Love the ability to cut fabric with the maker but I haven't had much success with the other materials I know it CAN cut, like wood and metal etc. So depends on your needs

I love your frame idea, with the see through glass around the photo. I’m not sure how you applied the material on the frame itself, especially in the inside of the frame where it meets the glass. Do you have a video where you put it together?

I did it so long ago, so I didn't film it but basically you are going to cut a piece for each of the 4 sides. Where they meet in the corners, you'll need to cut it on an angle. Then kind of tuck and fold it like a present.

You are my favorite and I’ve made several of your diy ideas. I want to make all of them!

Cute!! For the DIY cheeseboard, make sure not to add any apostrophes in the last name-you should just end it with an "s" unless the family's name already ends in -s, -z, -ch, or -sh, in which case you would add "es." I'm just adding this in case the person you plan on giving it to is a punctuation freak like me! 😄

Why did you put an apostrophe in The Zarellis? You don’t use an apostrophe make a last name plural. Unless you meant it to be possessive: The Zarelli’s board. 💚

I love this video as I always love your content, you’re one of the best and my favorite creators! These are great gifts thanks for sharing I HAVE to say …. The apostrophe is grammatically incorrect on the cutting board. It should just be plural not possessive.. thought I’d say this so if you are gifting you can fix beforehand.

Cheeseboard is really cute, but watch out for apostrophes when pluralizing last names. An apostrophe indicates that "This is the Zarrelli's cheese board" instead of "This cheeseboard belongs to the Zarrellis"

Well, I have the explore 2 and got it when it first came out. It was advertised to cut many materials including chip wood. Well... I quickly found out that it didn't and I would have to buy the NEXT one which was the Maker. A little to pricey for my taste. So I tried to learn all the design tricks with " welding, slicing, flattening, and so on. My hubby who is very tech savvy has even tried to coach me. No dice. I can't get it to cut very fine lines...yes I have tried all types of new blades, and material. So basically I use it to print then cut, which isn't always easy, and so I only cut larger boxy letters. It turned out to be a huge financial thing with all the " vinyl, tools, mats, now sublimation......ugh, it's a little overwhelming.

@@Gracyhart1 right! All the different blades and accessories. I think the small things that go wrong are the most frustrating for me personally. Things like the mat may have had a few specks of dirt so the blade skipped over that part of the cut and then you have to try to cut it with an Xacto knife by hand and I'm like I suck at hand cutting this is why I got this dang machine 🤦🏼‍♀️ or when the vinyl won't stick to the surface you're applying it to when you've used that particular vinyl and similar surfaces before with no problems.. just the little hassles are what makes me dread using any of these machines. But I make shirts for my employees for my business and I was having some of the HTV stick great and others not so much so I went and got a 300 dollar HUGE heat press to find that it didn't help either 🤦🏼‍♀️ I find glitter HTV to be the easiest to work with but I can't have all glitter shirts for my business lol. Anyway I'm just rambling. They're actually great and useful machines but.... they can be very particular when they want to work properly IMO.
