What I've found is that depending on your weight, removing sugary drinks from your diet and keeping the same elsewhere actually matters A LOT and you can lose weight just by cutting that singular item out. I'm thankful that I'm not someone that can eat plate after plate of food, or eat something so calorie dense, as I'll feel disgusted with myself afterwards, and at the same time, I'm thankful to be someone who actually enjoys to eat a homecooked meal that's filling and healthy. If I could eat Salmon and trout everyday, I would. What I found easy was making my own beef jerky as a snack to eat with the dehydrator I owned. What I noticed too is that I get most of my enjoyment from the act of chewing itself, so chewing something flavorful is real nice and gum will help with that, sadly, most gums are sweet, and I'm a massive meat eater.

Honestly after removing sugar and eating at home for so long you begin to crave it. I typically don't eat out anymore and whenever I do I feel disgusted as well. The beef jerky is pretty cool! I always wanted to try something like that but just never really know how to lol.

@@StuartHamiltonEnnis Buy a dehydrator for 30 dollars, or use your oven at the lowest temp. Just get an 'eye of round' cut of beef. Essentially the leanest cut of beef you can get cut into strips. Soak in some soy sauce with a mixture of pepper flakes and whatever other seasonings you want or a slight brine to get some flavor over night in the refrigerator. and then set the temp to around 150 in your dehydrator. Some people will say move the racks around half-way through. But I never had to bother. Afterwards, you got a crap ton of meat. Dehydrators do more than just meat though. Put some wax paper on top of the grates and then spoon over some homemade chili you've made (Chili that doesn't have cooking oil in it will last longer) and then dehydrate at the same temp as your jerky, and keep waiting until it becomes Chili brittle. boom. Shelf-stable Chili. Put it in a baggy, to take with you. Bang. You've made yourself a fineass meal. You can do this with most foods. One guy actually crushed up tomatoes into a paste and dehydrated them into a blanket, then crushed it to a powder and used it as a base to make spaghetti sauce.

I'm currently losing weight and that cheat meal rule is important to me! I say to myself that comfort is a nutrient too. I would find myself getting depressed a little with no treats, but now I will allow myself to have a cookie or whatever if I feel like I need it. As long as I'm mostly eating healthy, avoiding sugary drinks, and exercising, a cheat meal is well-deserved! I plan on getting some jalapeno poppers next time I need comfort.

Exactly! When it comes to weight loss it's about the journey and not hating the entire process. Losing weight doesn't have to be this all or nothing mentality. We can still enjoy things in life just in moderation and at our own pace all while still making our lives better!

As a guy who uses the weight bench and tries to get a lot of protein in my meals, its easy to over eat (calorie wise) Simple advice, but still true and useful. Thanks. 👍

@@StuartHamiltonEnnis other than skinless chicken breast, any advice on what else to eat that is high in protein but low in fat? I include chunk-light tuna in water in my diet as well as a high protein food every week.

@@master1442p frozen is said to be as healthy if not healthier, due to the fact the frozen vegs do not lose nutrients while frozen....and fresh vegs can lose potency through being picked and then transported for days to various stores.
