A brilliant short video Carl discussing the key aspects of a successful carp fishing holiday. Spooner is a top bloke and is honest as the day is long 👏👏👏 If it’s your first time fishing abroad then i would choose France all day long. It is the country most synonymous with big carp fishing. Also 99.9% of most commercials in France are run by English people/anglers who know exactly how to cater for UK anglers and they have been doing it for over 30 years. For my first time back in the mid 00’s i chose one of most simple french fishing type holidays which involved me driving to a secure carpark in Folkestone, being picked up by coach with all my gear taken to the venue and picked up again a week later. The venue consisted of 5 lakes from 4 - 18 acres and had carp up to 70lb and cats to 140lb They even offer cooked breakfast and evening meals which took away the hassle of cooking and prepping meals on the bank apart from some mid day snacks. They even have a lodge with huge freezers for bait storage, fridge full of beer and satellite tv. This type of holiday takes away all the stress that can come with drive and survive type holidays especially if it’s your first time. Dreams Lakes and Les Quis are 2 of the original venues that started the commercial carp holiday trend back in the early 1990’s but now there are so many top quality venues to choose from. And no need to change anything about your rigs as these fish can be caught on the same rigs that are used back in the UK. Size 4’s & 6’s are spot on as is 15lb mainline as we use in the UK.
