    Actually with the first move it's better not to grap the attacker's arm by the wrist, as is shown in the video. Any strong guy can easily pull his arm out. Better grap the arm behind the biceps and keep the arm firmly attached against the side of his body.

  • @kingwilly8041

    @kingwilly8041

    7 ай бұрын

    I don't agree. It is easier to hold the guy's wrist than his arm (especially if he is a bodybuilder type with large arms). A woman or child with small hands would find it difficult to control the arm, let alone have to reach further to get around arm to begin with. A wrist is smaller, closer (since you're reaching inside), and much easier to control. I know even Rickson shows it the classic way you are describing but they never demonstrate it on someone who is 6'5" and 300 pounds. I know a guy like that and there is no way to do it on him the way Rickson shows (and I have relatively long arms).

    The 3rd one I've learned in aikido. We emphasized a little more smash and distance with the throw while drilling and no pin. Ive adapted it to stay close and take mount in my personal Jui jitsu journey. I was looking for some reassurance and additional pointers on the move, thank you. People always hate but the techniques between the arts over lap and came from the same place . Trick with any art is to find a good teacher. That is the hardest part of aikido. Every single day of open mat in bjj I sub some one with an a aikido technique. Easiest way to teach aikido technique to bjj guy is to never say the word aikido. Just pretend it's jui jitsu, which aikido is.

    You can also let him have the head, step behind him, then bend your knees, lift him up. Boy, will he be surprised when he feels his feet leave the ground. The other is "ring the bell", meaning as you step behind, you swing your left arm between his legs--grab that left arm with your righrt arm, then lift him into the air. Of course, bring him down "gently"--don't want to hurt a man attacking you.

    @@MMALeech Yeah just get a hold of either and crank that. It helped me save my life once in a really criminal situation. I survived a lying rnc by breaking a finger. Basically it was a murder attempt. One guy got me in a rnc and immediately took me to ground. Another guy was going for a weapon hidden in his car, and the fucked up part is I thought he was going to get help LMAO. I got the guys pinky if the hand that pushes against the back off the head, broke it, got in a full mount, hit the guy's throat while keeping pressure on his forehead. Took an axe or a knife from another guy to my upper trap. Ran like crazy and bumped into a police car nearby. Almost died from blood loss. They are serving 20 years each in prison. They are Americans. I was a student in Massachusetts at the time. Against a very skilled practitioner though, I dont know how well I would fare. I guess the fingers are the only thing they cant keep safe. But getting to them depends on how they are controlling my upperbody. Would you perhaps make any video about how not to let your opponent control your upperbody when you are under a RNC submission. What exercises may increase my chances of keeping myself the way I wanna stay.... Would be a lot of core involvement for sure.

    Well explained, but just one thing, if the person is vicious in the moment you grab his arm he'll leave your neck and strike right in your face with an elbow smash. That's simple. When head locked better go to the groin or making a diving roll, then after doing all the finest thing. Street attacks don't let you time to be an artist.

  • @MMALeech

    What is concerning about this, is men even drunk men rarely initiate fights without back up (friends) in take down scenarios sure that seemingly eliminates the threat, but what if you get injured by a chair you didn't see and he can recover or more likely his buddies start stamping you or even bystanders try to break it up and attack YOU not the other person. Gotta find anyway to stay on your feet to be able to exit the scenario/move quickly to defend...no? Wouldn't it be better to punch the groin or gouge the eye/nose and throw him over you to stay standing?

    Honest question - in real time speed, can you execute that many controls. Like, what happens if you can only do 3/4 because the guy’s arm is slippery or stronger than yours. Are there steps to adapt? I’m not familiar with self defence only striking.

  • @MMALeech

    @MMALeech

    5 жыл бұрын

    Hi Luyen, yes there are many adaptations you can do depending on the attacker's reaction. It's just like striking, you can train a combo like jab, cross, hook to the body, and head kick, but it doesn't mean you are going to land all those strikes every single time you throw that combo... it depends on your opponent's reactions, defenses, timing etc...

    @@Tanishqkanojia1163 Anyone of them is effective. If you have a friend/brother/father you can train together to become stronger and you will see alot of improvements. The first one should be the main one, since you completely prevent him putting you in the headlock and you can slam him. If a guy is much stronger than you and puts you in a headlock, possibilities are that he will use his strength to slam you on the floor, so preventing the headlock and taking him down is much better than the second or the third, because with a broken posture he got more elevation, and if he is stronger, you will probably get slammed. Take care of yourself, hope it helps.

    You basically have 3 options: 1) try to negotiate with him to see if he stops 2) do nothing and risk your life 3) use the techniques you have been training. It doesn't matter if he is bigger and stronger as long as your technique is sharper/better than his. Now, if both of you have about the same technique level, the bigger and stronger person will prevail most of the time.

    You won't be able to generate enough power to do significant damage, plus it can put you off-balance making easier for your opponent to take you down

    Then it's a choke situation not a headlock, in that case they would try to pull your head up instead of pushing it down. Different set of techniques for that specific situation.

    I wish he would had hold the head more tighter like in a real fight to see how effective it is and which one is the one ☝️ works the best., He is letting him do it and not locking the head full on.,

    4. Left hand around his waist, hip in and lift up while driving the right arm up between his legs and finish with a suplex dumping him on his head and shoulders. Then spin up straddling and whale on his face. Works just fine on bigger guys too. It’s similar to the last move but more dynamic.

    I wish the one doing the headlock will do it like he really wants to hurt the other guy, instead of doing it like just another instruction video. That way he can find out which works and which doesnt in real life situation. I guess it cant be done due to safety & insurance reason.
