Or that Sid is a garbage man because he knows toys are real, but instead of rescuing them he is building a secret toy army because he's the ONLY one on Earth who knows about toys being alive. Once he has enough, the toy uprising will begin!!!!

I'm willing to bet Sid eventually got over his fear of the toys and tried to communicate with them. Eventually a toys did become sentient in front of him again. Fascinated by the world of talking toys who love their owners unconditionally, Sid slowly got involved in the toys' world and got in many adventures with them. Meanwhile there are toys who want to bring him down because of his past indiscretions, and GODDMANN YOU'RE RIGHT I WANT THIS MOVIES.

Or maybe Sid did go crazy after finding out toys were real. After trying countless times to convince people he was telling the truth, he fell into a deep depression and committed suicided. His sister cleans out is his belongings, throwing them away and Thus comes the Garbage man stumbling over a cool vintage punisher shirt and decided to keep it for himself.

It would make complete sense if the janitor from Breakfast Club was a doctor in psychology who was doing a deep cover analysis of a high school. His study specifically noted the everyday environment of contemporary school school society and the effects it has on it's students and faculty. All of it takes place within a controlled environment.

Sid's secret? He got a job that doesn't make him interact with other people. Also, there's a theory that he actually finds, rescues, and rebuilds toys as he is now. They may not ever animate for him again, and he probably doubts the traumatic event of his childhood even happened... but I like to believe he still fixes up broken toys he finds and hangs onto them.

I would love to see a movie or mini-series as a prequel to Who Framed Roger Rabbit, about Eddie and his brother, growing up in the circus, going through police training, breaking off and starting their own detective agency, getting Goofy off of Spy charges, getting the Key to Toon Town from Mayor Mouse, solving whatever crime Yosemite Sam was put away for before they uncovered whoever framed him. And that's just stuff that we know happened from that scene where it pans over Eddie's brother's side of the desk!

Don't forget, his picture in up in the school's wall for being the school's "Man Of The Year," so... what made him go from being perceived as having so much potential to deciding to enter a field he knows so many people look down on. Are high school secrets that important to him? Did he peak in high school, and he wants to stay close to the location where he used to be considered important? Seriously, what happened to this guy?

I often wondered too how the janitor went from being such a promising member of Shermer Highs student body to becoming a staff member emptying the bathroom garbage. Not to mention that the actor playing him was also in Sixteen Candles. He was the oily bow hunk that married Molly Ringwolds sister.

Who else would think of bizarre solutions to puzzles that might result in sex like going out onto a railing to turn a woman's TV off, or turning yours up super loud so no one would notice? Or having an entire party that doesn't actually end up costing you anything just on the off chance that she'll come over? Louis' mind operates like a Sierra adventure game protagonist, and his luck goes exactly the same way.

I had always thought that they should've made a companion piece to Ferris Bueller's Day Off called Abe Froman's Day Off about how Abe "Sausage King of New York" Froman was taking a ditch day from his work (that's why he never shows up for his business lunch that Ferris usurped) and it could all happen in parallel with Ferris's day and have little easter eggs where you can see Ferris and company in the background. I had originally thought that they should've made it back when Ferris Bueller first came out so that Matthew Broderick could've reprised his role as Ferris, but now I think they should make it with Matthew Broderick AS Abe Froman and Alan Ruck as Abe's friend and business partner or something. And it could be where, like, Abe and Alan are getting older and know they're getting too old for working so they want to have one last day of living like they're young before they quietly retire. I can't be the only one who's thought of this

A bit of irony here, Rick Moranis was supposed to play the janitor in Breakfast Club. That would have you saying two characters by the same actor should have their own film while that particular actor has no desire to act anymore as it is.

maybe from toy story 2-3 he befriended these toys he now knows are sentient. I mean he seems like a lonely kid and finding out not only the toys you have but have built are alive. and the toys he's modded don't seem to resent him all that much I mean who wouldn't want to be a baby head on top of a spider nightmare erector set.

Yes! The Janitor in the Breakfast Club is one of my favorite characters in that movie. I've always said that if I could be a character in the Breakfast Club, that I'd want to be him. The guy just seems to have it all figured out. Though I'd probably be a cross between Alison & Brian. Seriously though, why is it that the Janitor is often one of the coolest or most entertaining characters in movies & TV?

savagenature1 Because they aren't technically in charge of you meaning you don't have to obey/fear them, they know how to do all of the things and go all of the places you don't and can't, and they generally are portrayed as having awesome/twisted senses of humor making them the greatest friends/foes imaginable. They're outsiders with super skills and keys who may take you on an adventure or ruin your whole day, what's not amazing about that? ^_^

Sid's transformation is completely logical. The toys' reveal was traumatizing, but as an intervention meant to curb his torturing of toys, which presumably would have escalated. Sid probably realized he'd been hurting things that could think and feel and was so overcome with guilt that he resolved not to cause harm to others. Then he became a happier, more positive person. And why would being a garbageman be anything but a delight to a kid who loved reinventing old, discarded or broken stuff?

In the spirit of the Star Wars Universe, I'd like to see a spin off movie of Pig Face and Walrus Boy just getting into wacky misadventures going from planet to plant (in a galaxy far, far away) checking out the local cantinas up until they make the fatal mistake of landing on Tatooine.

I like the idea that Sid's parents eventually saw there was a problem with Sid suddenly being terrified of toys, and sent him to a therapist where he ultimately got to talk about the underlying problems of his hard home life. Maybe they even had family counseling and the whole family became better connected.

I've always been fond of the theory that Sid became a garbageman to rescue thrown-away toys. He knows they're alive now, and he's making up for his past wrongdoings (however unintentional they might have been) by making sure the toys don't have to live out the rest of their lives trapped under a pile of garbage. He takes them home, fixes whatever damage caused them to be thrown away with the same skills he used to make his Frankensteins as a kid, and then donates them to charity so the toys will be with children who will love them. That's why he's happy and at peace, because he knows that he's doing a good thing. He's taking the unwanted and the unloved and giving them purpose again. That sounds like a pretty damn heartening thing, to me.

The janitor is bored, he does his job and gets paid but entertains himself by going through the lockers, notes, and conversations of the students, he can even go through the private medical, psychological, and professional files of every student and staff. He's untouchable, he is the eyes and the ears of that school, young man. He is the keeper of keys and grounds at Shermer High.
